What do you consider a "fast" car?

i'll just have to say the dollar bill test is my definition of fast, or really torquey. the whole tape a bill to the dash and have a passenger try to grab it while accelerating. usually cars in the 13's do this to most people.

I want to own a fast car before I die. I've ridden in them but I want one to call my own.

I wonder if the Pontiac G8 GT is considered fast? I wonder if it's faster than an MS6? Those are the two front runners for my next car.

I think the G8 GT would be faster than an MS6....however, they only come in auto. Now, if you want a fast car, go with a G8 GXP. 400+hp and a 6spd manual

One Problem with your list...Its missing the McLaren F1

if it isnt at least a 13.5, it isnt fast. ive had stock turbo, stock motor probe hitting a 13.9@99 with $400 In mods. and that wasnt fast. thats just quick or 'peppy'. lol.

I knew I forgot some one yall can finish the list off for me

Lol That is my only addition. Just because it is my favorite car EVAR.

I do not know if it has been said before, but fast is a human turn used to describe a sense of speed or quickness and since it is a human term it is subjective to the topic and person applying it.

Fast has no comparable unit like speed (mph/kph), power (bhp,lb-ft), grip (g-forces). All of those things have a role in the application of fast, but your fast is different than my fast.

Example: A lot of you guys are using 1/4 mile times as a defining measure of "fastness".
However, I think it should be road course times, skip pad numbers, or a combination of the two.

I like cars that will not only hold me to my seat, but try to sling me out the window and bash my face into the steering wheel. I like a car that accelerates quickly, but grips and brakes like there is no tomorrow.

I think power to weight ratio is a decent indicator of being fast if we want to gauge just the speed aspect, but it does not take a lot of things into account.

I think that the "fastness" of a car is too fast and subjective to actually put a label on.

Then again this is all my personal opinion that I just typed up as it came to me.

Makes sense to me. Fast means different things to different people.

you mean the one from the fast and the furious..."man that guys fast" " i live my life a quater mile at a time for those 10 sec or less im free"...lol

scion tc is a fast car

one that is easly overtaken by my grandpa thriller (99 continental) seriously the tc has no top end.

besides to say any car is fast would be foolishness because it's all in the eye of the beholder. for instance i think my lincoln is "fast" because it can haul ass for a tank. regardless people will always thing there car is fast because it's faster than the one next to it but that doesn't truely make it fast. i think a fast car would be something like a top fuel car or funny car. let's see your mazdaspeed 3 beat 8000hp to the wheels
