What do I need to match a 350z/MS3/SRT-4?

if anyone pays $18k for a 3-5 year old neon that only cost $20k new they're retarded. i think they're decent cars but not that good.

fwiw i found a few in the 60k mile range for in the $12,000 area

True, they should not cost so much and people should not pay so much for a Dodge.
I sold an 08 SRT-8 Charger where i work for $28,000 and it had less than 30,000 miles. Horrbile resale value.

who was trying to sell an SRT4 for $18,000 at a time when you could get an MSP for $8,500? i'm pretty sure i remember hearing of people buying new SRT4's for $18,000. i haven't looked but i'd imagine they're around the $10,000 mark now

the 2003 had an MSRP of $19,450. there were a few options to bring it higher and 2004 and 2005 were a little more expensive because they added an LSD. when it came out it was billed as the fastest car under $20k

I go to TST almost every week on Thursdays at Sonic on Street Road, Bensalem, PA. 9p.m.-1a.m.
Street Road exit is off I-95. About 50 cars show up, but not at the same time.
Sometimes 20 people show up, 5 leave, 8 new people come, 10 leave, 2 new people come, and so on. So the most cars at the meet at the same time is like 25.

How big is the TST Exton meet?

Wow that's a tough race, I'd love to take it on but I bet I'd still lose. Any of those cars modded would easily beat a slighly modded MSP. If you really want to beat all those cars your going to have to go big. I really love my MSP and I do have a lot of mods but I do know it's not the fastest on the road.

So far mods are T3-60 (it's a big turbo with a 4" inlet), FMIC, full 3" straight through exhaust, MPI tuner and boost set at around 9psi got me 249whp.

well one thing is to work on a good launch...and also along with those mods that are needed to beat those cars...you're gonna have to have a lot of money to do that....with the money that i have put into my car just fixing it up this year i've could have bought a hiboost turbo kit...and then forged internals with ems when my taxes come ....make sure your car is running right before you go ahead and start ordering parts for it...it'll bite you in the ass in the long run

Well said. There are several aspects of the MSP that require attention before you start modding. In my case those things are what caused my mods.. lol.

well they were noobs to turbos when they made the msp.

they weren't noobs to turbos with the MSP at all - the older turbo cars actually have more robust engines than the MSP. the weak engine in the MSP was a result of cost savings resulting from taking an existing NA engine and putting a turbo on it. the MSP is also not the laughing stock of the import "seen." power isn't its strong point but it has enough to get out of its own way. take it to an autocross course and see how many people in the "seen" are laughing at it
