What did you pay for your loaded MP5? Im in the market for one.

$17.6 + 0% for 60 months

In San Diego last January, I got my 2003.5 P5 for $17,600 with 0% interest for 60 months, nothing down. It had everything but leather:

Sport AT
6-disc CD changer
Moonroof
4-wheel disc ABS
Side Airbags
100W sub (instead of roof rack - '03.5 model)

Am I forgetting anything? Maybe, but whatever - it was everything but leather.

My 2003 in March with manual tranny, sunroof/cd changer, leather, abs/side airbags was $18000 after tax and license. That's about $400 over invoice. Don't forget that prices can vary wildly by geographic region.

Thanks, the Silver one was mine. Factory turbo and bolts ons running mid to low 13's.

Basically heres how it goes, $$$$.

$410 a month isnt exactly cheap. I can afford it yes, but not cheap.

AND

Back in Octover of 2002, i got hit with 2 speeding tickets within 4 days. (dont care to explain, but it was more of being in the wrong spot at the wrong time type of deal. Out of 3 cars the first time i got picked, and the 2nd car in the middle of traffic i got picked again) So my insurance went from an outstanding $104 a month for 5 months with the 6th month free, to an obsurd $188 a month for 5 months with the 6th one free.

So now im paying $600 a month on a car that i dont put but maybe 50 miles on a week. (drive a work van for business).

So in general, with ALOT less power im hopingt o keep my foot off the gas and simply enjoy the ride. Not to mention get back into a car thats affordable. My insurance should drop a lil bit too because technically im going to a "station wagon".

Drew-

I would seriously think about this one. I traded in my 2001 Audi A4 1.8T for the P5 about a month ago, and I already miss it. The big reason for purchasing the P5 was to save some $$$$ to buy a house. I love the P5, but if your coming from a chipped 1.8T, you are in for a huge disapointment. The 1.8T engine is one of the best tuner friendly engines ever built. I mean how many cars will get you an extra 40hp buy just chipping the ECU (about $300).

I just picked mine up last monday. I find some of these deals people are claiming to be ridiculous and I think that some are being dishonest. Anyway, I got mine for $150 over invoice less the $1500 factory rebate. Mine has the auto and abs/side airbags package plus bs options like wheel locks, auto dim mirror, and rear bumper guard. It's a 2003 so standard roof rack and no subwoofer for me. I paid just about $16000 for mine before tax and tags. While at the dealer I did notice that the invoice price for a 2003.5 with auto and abs/side airbag package, and without the bs options, was over $500 more than the invoice on the 2003 I picked up... just something to think about.

it sounds like i was *****. $18K. 5 spd purchased last july. moonroof, abs, polished wheels. that's including the $500 colege grad rebate. 0% 48 months. should've waited... oh well

The '03 P5 I bought is an automatic, polished wheels, moonroof, in-dash 6 CD player, Cassette Deck, ABS, Side Airbags, Leather, Wheel Locks, Roof Rack, & Cargo Net. The MSRP was $20,500 US. I offered the dealer 3% over invoice (I don't mind them making a profit) and they accepted. Yeah, I might have been able to shave another percentage point or two, but most car dealers operate on a 3% profit margin, unless they are poorly run or just plain greedy.
I had no trade in, and I DID NOT finance with the dealer. This got me an additional $500 rebate off of the negotiated price. Always have your own financing before you go car shopping (just like you would for a house). This way the dealer won't be able to play the loan games with you. I used a home equity line of credit to pay for the car. Right now the interest rate for this loan is 3.25% and I get to write the interest off on my income tax. Remember, the fantastic car loan rates the car guys advertise is only for people with really high credit scores (like above 700 or higher). Check out www.carbuyingtips.com for a real lesson in buying a car. Jim

vlad, I don't know if any of the other prices mentioned on the board are correct or not, but the $13,745 price for a base model is prolly legit at Town North Mazda in Dallas. This is where I bought mine and they had a page just like the following at the time - but with a price of $14,995, which is what I paid.

mountjonas, my total out-the-door was $16,100 including TT&L. You didn't mention if TT&L was included in your $18,000. I wouldn't worry about it too much. My base model would have been around $17,000 if I'd opted for the 0.0% that you got. (They wanted to add $1000 to the price to get 0.0%.) I just wrote them a check for the full amount. (I think they were surprised considering me and my ex looked pretty impoverished.) The finance guy called me everything short of an ID10T for not taking the 0.0%. I'm writing a letter to Mazda about him this weekend... :-)

mountjonas, If I'd know they were going to drop $1200 from what I paid, sure, I would have kept my '89 Celica for a few more months. But I didn't know that and I made a good decision at the time. And I'm still happy with my decision. It doesn't bother me that I paid that much more because I love the car. And I'm a frickin' cheapskate who sweats the small stuff - just ask my friends. So don't worry. You've got a fantastic car! :-)

About $16,000 for a 2003.0 model with roof rack and no subwoofer. I say "about" because I had a trade-in that clouded things somewhat. Purchased on 4/1/03.

Options:

--moonroof and 6-cd changer
--ABS and side impact airbags

i'm totally happy with my decision, don't get me wrong, it's just hard hearing people paying less since i worked my ass off to get them down to 18000. they originally wanted 19500 for it.

The reason why there are good deals out there is because the economy stinks and Mazda like other car makers are sitting on a lot of inventory. In addition this is the last model year for the P5 and Mazda doesn't want to be sitting on last years model when the new ones come out.

This is the best time to buy a car. I purchased my P5 with auto, leather, sunroof, polished rims,cd changer, auto mirror, abs and sideairbags for $16300 including the rebate of $1750. I lucked out because they had the exact car I was looking for. It was $4000 off MSRP. It was a special they were running.

I'm totally happy also. We were the first ones with the 2002.5, so we had to price a stiffer price.
