What did you pay for your CX-5?

You don't understand adding 4" to the wheelbase to create a usable back seat? I've owned 2 of these things (2013 and 2023) and that's been my primary complaint with both. It's high time Mazda corrected this mistake!

The change in controls functionality (from knobs to touch screen) is what is upsetting the diehard Mazda Nation. Furthermore, the interior looks drastically different. There wasn't anything wrong with it the way it was.

No buttons, not interested in the car, no matter how big or small it is.
Every new model generation they HAVE to make it bigger then the old one so they have an argument more to sell it: MORE SPACE.
Well there are plenty of other models out there that have more space then the outgoing cx 5 generation.
And i didn't talk about the exterior of the new model. That looks actually pretty nice. I should have specified that more, but i thought it was obvious what i was referring to... the big screen and less buttons thing ect.... my bad
Oh by the way, those 2 Mazda's we bought in 2025 and this year are the first ones we ever had. For me the layout and the control joystick are just perfect for me and wifey! I hate touchscreens, not only in cars. Call me old school, fair enough.

I think the correct answer is to sell the CX-60 in the US, but thats just me. Thats the car the CX-70 should have been with an I6.

Some of us are nearly 10 years into the current generation design, I invite an update (but should have been in the form of the CX-60 - see above comment )

I agree. No single model can be all things for all markets.

CX-60 is made for the narrow confines of the EU, the CX-70 doesn't have those restrictions in the land where wider is better.

But they should have at least borrowed from the design. Now we have a CX-5 that's chasing after what Honda/Toyota/Hyundai/Kia are trying to be and that causes it to lose its appeal for me.

I will admit the 2025 CX-5 has a flaw, in that the rear seat and cargo area are too small (even for its class). I rarely ever carry passengers in the back seat… and if so, it’s a short distance. The front seat experience is much more important to me. I am old school, and prefer knobs/buttons. The turbo engine was a big part of why I wanted the 2025 CX-5. I also think Mazda seems to have decided to chase their competition with this 2026 CX-5, instead of staying loyal to their previous philosophies. I hope the 2027 model really wows us… but I have no interest in any type of hybrid automobile.
