What did you pay for your CX-5?

Been asking around for OTD prices in the Bay Area (California)...
Is $26,850 a good price for a Sky Blue Touring AWD?
What about $28,900 OTD on a Soul Red Touring AWD w/ Moonroof + Bose Audio

These are just off email quotes on OTD.. Still haven't went in to negotiate with dealers since I'm a bit uncertain which one I want. I want moonroof and possibly the bose audio package, but paying the extra ~$2k..

Damn.. I emailed that dealer back with a much lower OTD price (25k for touring and 27k for touring w/ bose+moon) and that email was pretty straight forward saying a no, max is $300 off those pricing LOL... Worth a try.. Hope the dealer don't think I'm playing around since I am a serious buyer but just want to see if I can get the price any lower without going to a dealer to negotiate..

I think those numbers sound pretty good to me as-is. You can check my price (with details) earlier in this thread for the Sky Blue Touring AWD I bought on May 31st. I think you're price above is a couple hundred lower then that.

I would suggest to all of you who are shopping via email: call the dealers once in a while and make voice contact with your salesperson. It helps show your serious and not just lazily shopping around looking for a low-ball deal. If they think they can get a sale, then they'll work with you. But if they think you're just looking around and not buying, they'll be more quick to say no and spend their time on someone who wants to make a deal.

Good luck!

So, I just bought the car and went to pick up today, found out the car had 118 (originally estimated 65 miles from the sales person) miles on it and a rock/paint chip on it... Is that even acceptable?

I knew they were transferring the car from dealer to dealer and took one day, but when I went to pick up the car, they told me they had to drive it from the dealer it was in to their dealer since it wasn't over 200 miles(?). Apparently, I checked the VIN and the car was originally from a dealer in Sacromento and takes 115 miles (according to Google Maps). The paint chip, they said they were going to fix it and gave me a rental for a day or two, but still kind of annoyed how there was a chip on a brand new car, and also annoyed with the 118 mile on the odometer...

Before taxes? or is that OTD?

I bought a Soul Red Touring AWD w/ Moonroof + Bose for $28.8k OTD + $1.7k on "extended warranty" which I probably shouldn't have lol...

Hello everyone!!

Proud owner of a new 2014 Mazda CX5 GT, front wheel drive, tech package, black with sand interior. Purchase price was $28.5K plus TTL.

Looking forward to learning more about Mazda's in this forum!

Hey another new owner here. 2014 Mazda CX5 GT - AWD, Tech, Meteor Gray. I spent some time driving the 2.0 and 2.5 and decided I wanted the AWD and 2.5 for the CO mountains. The car is for my wife and she absolutely loves it. Purchased for $30,150 before TTL without a trade in.

FYI, Auto Barn in Evanston, IL is doing 0.9% for 60 months and $500 loyalty cash on all 2014 CX-5's, for July end. So, go in the next couple days if interested.

that's the same deal i got here in Texas. I think that is a Mazda special

nice. we don't want to rush anything so we're not biting but we're hoping they have some deal around Labor Day

Well...decided to go with the CX-5! As of Saturday now the proud owner of one and I have already put 200 miles on it.

Picked up a Black 2014 AWD Touring, no other options. MSRP: $26,660. I got it for $25,500 which as I understand is about $500ish below invoice. With taxes, dealership fee, and filing fee $26,780.17 OTD.

Overall pretty happy with the deal. Getting free oil changes for life too.

free oil changes sounds great. my wife had that with her truck she bought until the dealership changed ownership and that program was cut. I was fairly unhappy, and they tried to credit us with 'discounts', but needless to say we havent been back to that dealership since.

I bought my wife's 3 from the Autobarn in Evanston. They had me on their email list & sent out an eblast at the end of Feb to sell 3s at $250 below invoice. I wasn't ready to buy then, so I emailed the sales guy on April 5 for the same deal, he gave it to me & I got it for $250 under invoice.
So when you're ready to buy, doesn't hurt to ask for the same deal, they might do it as they did back for me in '06.

Oh BTW, the guy I referred to you in Eglin no longer works there, the other guys are not as responsive, so just letting you know. Looks like Autobarn is where you'll go.

Just that when I went back a year after I bought my wife's 3, I got the same deal ($250 under invoice), for my friend & the finance guy took forever trying to sell him the service plan for $30/month with includes oil changes. What a rip, OCs are $20 special at most dealers. He kept trying to use us against each other bc my friend is pretty clueless about cars & he was afraid to say no like I did & fell into his sales pitch.

Just bought a 2014 CX-5 GT AWD, with tech package, cargo cover and roof rails, $30,956, which is $130 or so over reported dealer invoice. This was through a broker, maybe could have even done better, but it was close enough that I was happy.

2014 CX-5 Touring

Hi All - I'm a new CX-5 owner. Purchased a Touring with Bose/Moonroof and the Technology package. No other extras. We didn't want the Technology Package, but that was available in the CX-5 on the lot...

We paid $26,300 (which included a $500 Loyalty Discount, as I'm a previous Mazda3 owner). This is abvout $1,500 under invoice price, I think (basically didn't pay for the Technology Package). Once you add in TTL and my wife purchased an $1,800 extended warranty plus insurance for the fancy key fob, OTD was $31,223.

Sticker on our 2014 GT AWD was $30,895 plus $600 for the rails/crossbars for a total of $31,495. We paid $29,900 which is below invoice, according to Edmunds. Buying on the last day of the month probably helped... ;-) In addition to the 'base' GT, our car has back-up sensors, mats, rear bumper guard, wheel locks and the retractable cargo cover. Oh, and $300 for the Soul Red paint....

Just bought a 2014 GT FWD this weekend, white with black leather interior and the tech package, for $29,000 plus taxes/tags (under invoice). Also got 1.9% for 72 months and a really good trade in on my 2000 Jetta TDI. Still kind of in shock how good of a deal we got. The HID's alone are worth it for the Tech package.

Bought from a dealership in Mattoon, IL. Very happy with them.

Hello, a couple of newbie questions here.

First, does anyone have any leads for prices around the Boston area? Based purely on Internet research and emailing, the best I'm finding so far is about $500 off MSRP; people on the boards seem to be getting deals at or around invoice, but I'm not sure if that's applicable across all areas and would like to know if I should expect to find the same thing locally or if I should start looking farther afield. I'd like to buy locally, both for the convenience factor and for the free oil changes and other goodies you get for servicing your car where you buy it, but if it'll save me a thousand bucks to buy in New Jersey, hey, who doesn't like a free weekend in NYC?

Second, am I reading right that folks are actually getting their cars for around invoice out the door in some cases? Can anyone point me to a guide for what we should be expecting to pay in terms of licensing, dealer fees, delivery and other BS they throw on to make the offer price look better than it really is, and how to argue these down? Having never bought a new car before (CPO made sense right up until a couple of years ago), I'm new to this game.

Thanks!

--Chris
