What did you pay for your CX-5?

Ok, I have been lurking on this site for a few weeks now. Since I just put my order in I can hopefully give some useful info for anyone else lurking around.

Red Soul Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring w/Tech
Retail Price $31,645 - savings of $947 from dealer - Mazda Loyalty Rebate of $500 = $30,198 plus $273 for plate and crap as well as $1693.84 for Tax and you come up with $32,164.84
Also was able to get 2.39% for 60 months through mazda and a local bank which was better than Mazdas current deal of 2.9%. The salesman said on the Mazda 2.9% deal that they get a kick back of $200 and they would split it...sorry...didn't do that. Should arrive in less than a month. Oh yeah...I forgot...Hello everyone :) my name is John.

Of course not....it was Dahl, Subaru, Hyundia Mazda Dealership 608 784-9600 and ask for Kyle. Tell him that John (only Red soul guy in western wisconsin) said you would give him a damn good price. Don't even waste your time emailing or calling for a quote. I found out going through a few dealerships around here that you need to show up in person for actual documented quotes. Had to make a few trip up to Rochester, Mn just to get a quote but they couldn't come even close to what Kyle gave me.

All I ask is don't mention the forum (private stuff here)...but mention my name for sure :)

Thanks. La Crosse is a bit of a drive but I will give it some consideration. No mentioning of the forum.

Picked up my Crystal White 2014 GT w/Tech FWD yesterday. The cash price was $28801 plus taxes and transfer, included all weather mats, cargo tray, wheel locks and the factory upcharge of $178 for the paint color. Invoice was $29,427, so far I am liking the car but it has been raining steady since I picked it up so it is already dirty.

Sounds like a good deal. Best of luck with your new ride!

First post here (been lurking) and hoping you all can provide some insight with the vast knowledge and experience here.

Got a quote for $24,908 on a 2014 FWD Touring in Crystal White Pearl with rear bumper guard (includes freight and "dealer processing fee", excludes tax/title/tags). Edmunds lists invoice as $24,962. Decent deal?

Thanks in advance!

Great Price

I'm torn on a deal.

Getting a quote for a 2014 Touring FWD with bose and tech package.
msrp: $28,025
invoice (kbb): $27,032
quote: $25,700
Out the door: $28,100.

Problem is that the car is not on their lot and they won't bring it there until I can give them a "refundable" deposit. It's a great deal, but I want to see the car in person before giving any info or money.

Thoughts?

Which dealer were you quoted this price? This is better than any dealer I have spoken to in the last 2 weeks. Thanks!

So DeepFried....what do you need to see? The color or a test drive...plus remember they said refundable. Looks like a great deal!

The chances of deepfried getting a new CX-5 for $1300 under invoice using real numbers is about the same as me being an astronaut. What do you people think these dealers have for margins?? Geez, this get ridiculous after a while. I just played the BS card.

I don't blame you for playing the BS card. This was all over the phone as they kept calling me. I'm surprised that they're offering it at that price too, so I feel like I should be the one calling BS on them, which is why I'm so skeptical.

From lurking around on this thread, going price seems to normally be a few hundred dollars under invoice, which is what I was expecting.

I'm afraid that if I make a deposit, it's going to be super difficult for me to get it back if I pull out. Maybe I'm just being anal about the car not being on their lot and them having to drive it over, but it just seems too good to be true for me to hand them over some money before any real documents/emails get exchanged.

Since I'm not in a rush to buy the car, I'm waiting for the one I want to pop up and I'll start dealing from there. All I want is a liquid silver FWD touring with the bose package. What they're offering is a liquid silver fwd touring with bose and tech for the price of one with just the bose.

^Good that you are skeptical because it will not happen at that price. Once in a while I admit that I am wrong, but not this time. When it is all said and done about $500 under invoice, if that, is all anyone is going to get. How about those of use who have purchased just post up our final closing statement.
John

AWD GT w/Tech and wheel locks.

Payed $30,278 (invoice was $30,324; msrp $31,345)

Took them a week to locate the car from another dealership.

Bought a '14 Crystal White Pearl CX-5 GT AWD w/ tech package on 2/4/2013 for $29195(includes the $500 Mazda loyalty cash back) so other colors besides the Soul Red would be $28,995.
Price did not include TT&L
Also got the 0.9% Mazda financing through Chase, only financed about $14k & interest was ~$200 for 36 months.
Monthly payment of $398.

They did low ball me on my trade in $6400($6300 & threw in All Season Floor Mats, $100 value) for '06 Mazda 3 hatch, see it listed for $11,975.

Same car I am buying. No trade, no loyalty, .9% for 3 years (0 down)
I am paying invoice $30,502. + everything else.
Excluding the 500 loyalty, I think your deal may be lowest one I've seen. I am guessing you will be paying almost $1000 under invoice or 1k less then what I am paying. I may need to revisit my salesman before I actually sign the deal. Would the poor trade in value of the said car make the purchase price that much different?

Yeah, it was a great deal I couldn't pass up.
Maybe they figured they'll make it back with my trade in bc they knew I had a Mazda to trade in. Easier to sell a Mazda on Mazda dealer lot. I got the fair condition kbb trade in value, so I wasn't too disappointed until I saw the list sale price for $11,975.
Not sure if the dealer I bought from had lower invoice prices bc it was one of the best rated in customer service in Illinois.
Yeah, talk to your salesman & said I bought the same car for $29,500.

It is impossible to compare a deal involving a trade with a cash deal. They may have put $1000 extra profit on the trade to make the deal look better. If dealers are selling at $1000 under invoice on cash deals they will not be around long.
