What did you get as a welcome package from Mazda (Coffee Mug)?

For those of you who recently bought your 2010 Mazda CX-9, in the U.S., specifically in SF Bay Area, what did you get from Mazda USA as your welcome package?

Somehow, they got my address mixed up, and on their record (before I straighten it up), I live in another city far far away.

I got a little suspicious when I haven't heard a peep from them, and the survey call mentioned the wrong address, so, after 10 days or so, I gave them a call, and sure enough, my suspicion was confirmed.

After that, I only received an e-mail from Mazda USA. Other manufacturers usually gave goodies like coffee mug, blanket, etc.

Is this normal? :). Part of the reason it took me 10 days from the survey call to fix this with them was, I thought that it may be normal, that Mazda won't pamper/kiss customer's bottom as much as the luxury manufacturer, because, well..., it's just a mainstream manufacturer.

I never got a welcome package from Mazda, do you get it only when you fill out their survey? I shredded mine when I got it.

Welcome?

What I got was a survey link. I did it, but afterwards, and reflecting back on it, I realized it was more about making themselves feel good about themselves; and taking punitive action against a dealer if he didn't "measure up," than concern for my new purchase.

The question to "take the cake" was one where they asked if my salesman had taken me to the service area to schedule my first maintenance appointment.

I've read the on-line reviews of my selling dealer's service department - and I'd be hard pressed to want to take it there. That is tempered somewhat by the fact that its usually only disgruntled people who try to "hurt" businesses on-line.

Coffee mug? Closest thing to that is frfee coffee while you're at the dealership!

Don't ever destroy surveys from car manufacturers, they are the report card for dealerships and it helps the manufacturer from knowing how business is conducted at the particular dealership you bought the vehicle from. If you destroy them, the manufacturer will never know of the flaws or good deeds the dealership conducts.

I have never heard of any car manufacturer giving away "welcome" gifts. If any, the dealership itself will ask you to bring the survey in without filling it out in exchange for a small gift (i.e mug, hat, shirt, blanket, accessory, etc.) so that they can fill it out themselves with a perfect score and thus returning a picture perfect survey to the manufacturer.

Thanks for all the responses so far. All I got was a phone call from someone with a Virginia area code. I noticed that they always call around 7 PM PST, and do not leave any message. On the third day, I got curious and picked up the call. They only asked one question, and I gave "Excellent/10" for my dealership.

I asked you guys here, not so much about me worrying about missing the goodies, but, more of how do I make sure that they got my correct address so that they can notify me of any recall, TSB, etc.

If I receive a snail mail from them, it'll make me more comfortable.

I bought the car in late April, and when I called Customer Assistance to fix the address issue, I also asked if my car is part of the Seat Heater recall. She told me NO, and per the sticker in the door jamb, my car was built in Feb 2010.

In early years of CX9, owners got a "Zoom-Zoom" sticker and/or a bottle of touchup paint from Mazda.
No everyone got that, though. Maybe filling out the survey was the difference.

Don't know what people are getting now if any.

Oh I know what they are, just not worth my time to do them and what's worse is they keep sending them. I should prob just fill them out to save the trees.

.

Mazda did send me a postcard a month later congrats me on the purchase and told me to register at mymazda.com and after I did I've been getting some regular snail mail from them, so you might want to do that as well if you haven't yet.

Nothin from Mazda or Sharretts in Hagerstown. Only $10 off coupons for the beloved 15K service. Trashed

I never got a phone call, survey or anything from Mazda. Maybe they lost or mix up my info. I did get a free coupon for a free "gift" from the dealer. The coupon says I can claim it when I do my first free oil change.

My sister bought a camry not too long ago. And the dealer offer to fill out her survey in exchange for a Mug, Hat, Rubber Floor Mat, and key chain. Since the sales guy give her such a bad experience when making the purchase. She gave up all the free gifts and gave him the worst marks possible, lol.

Mazda need to step up to the plate. I followed the link in their e-mail with my access code just now, it bounced. Then, I followed registering manually per Davicho's link above, and when it gets to the finish line, this page gave me a message that the page no longer exist, and seems like my data has not been entered into the database.

That was with Google Chrome.
Using IE 8, all the frame looks like crap, but, it looks like finally I was able to sign up by guessing which link = Submit, etc. Regular soccer mom customer will give up after the first couple tries.
