What color to powdercoat my new RX8's?

I had my RX-8s PC'd back in Feb. of this year for $165 for all four rims. That included sandblasting and PC. I had them PC'd in Gunmetal Gray:

those are gangster! i would love to powder coat my rims! ECSPECIALLY for that price, shops around here are charging at least $250, with out prep im pretty sure

Those are sweet. Nice color choice and combo.
How'd they do the center caps?

They didn't. Can't PC plastic :)

I purchased the center caps to the RX-8 R3 rims for around $30 shipped. Was worth it to me since I didn't have to deal with painting them myself.

$165 for all four? Damn! I'm paying $500.......I did have to special order the paint though.

For my center caps they are just using regular paint. On some center cap versions you can pop out the mazda symbol. Mine don't, so it will be a uniform color.

I know $165 is on the cheaper side since most places I checked was between $350 - $500 for the entire process. I had to order special powder, too, since the Gunmetal Gray has metallic flakes in it and requires a special clear powder for the color to bond properly. The place I went locally started up the place to mostly PC his own stuff and his monster trucks, and only charges for the powder, sand used in sandblasting, and very little labor.

I was specifically wondering how they painted the caps to match and left the flying M chromed so nicely. I understand they can't be powder coated because they would melt in the curing oven - big freakin Duh.

Both of those questions are answered already. He got the center caps from the RX-8 R3 rims (already that color). Also, the Mazda emblems pop out of the newer center caps so you can paint the center cap then put the symbol back on untouched. I have older center caps so the symbols don't pop out.

I don't know why you had to end your post with attitude, but whatever floats your boat buddy.

Like RichB said, I explained in my previous post that I had PURCHASED the RX-8 R3 center caps...which come pre-painted.

Sorry for the tude - wasn't really intending it to come off that way.
Just making sure it was understood I know how powder coat works after you made the point you couldn't powder coat plastic parts.

I also didn't put it together that you bought the caps pre-painted, and then had the wheels powder coated to match.

I had the assumption stuck in my head you had the wheels powder coated and then took the caps someplace to have them painted to match afterwards.

I get it now.

Thanks
