What color to powdercoat my new RX8's?

:
07 MS3 GT Heavily Modified
i have a sunlight silver ms3...was wondering what you guys thought might a nice color to powdercoat these....i got 3 rims for $90 this weekend...the dude said they came with his dodge avenger..so he didn't really know how much they go for...works for me got a great deal..i was thinking of a bronze powdercoat?? what do you guys think?

yes: bronze

no: silver or black

maybe: gunmetal or crazy color to accent your theme 2nd color (blue, orange, green, etc.)

are these gonna be your main summer wheels and the ones in your sig your winter wheels or vice versa? I ask because I want a nice set of summer wheels that make my car look like sex on wheels, but in the winter I wanna turn heads with goofy colored stockers (lime green ftw on black mica) and have some fun.

Or find a 4th wheel at a junkyard for cheap, clean them up, turn and sell 'em (making a profit) and buy
nice aftermarket rims. just a thought

the ones in my signature are bent only two of them are good...so i am gonna throw some R coupound tires on them....

as the rx8's will be my main wheels...i wanna steer away from orange, blue, green etc.

i think bronze would look real nice....

someone post a pic of there silver ms3 with rx8's so that i can try to photoshop some bronze rims

it's nice that i got these 3 rx8 rims for $90 but i wouldn't go around and sell them.......maybe in the future but not now

I would go with bronze. I like the look.

Anyone know what it typically costs to powdercoat wheels? I got a quote for $50 per wheel which doesn't include sandblasting.

I got my 4 done for $300

to OP, I saw some company doing a "black chrome" color on TV the other saturday, I think that would look pretty good. Or I had this idea to do copper plated would look pretty cool once it started to turn "statue of liberty green" if you didn't clear coat the wheels.Maybe I'll try it out on my stockers once I get sick of them

hmm....One place says they need to be sandblasted and another place says they prob don't need it. Sandblasting adds to the price significantly.

you could sand them your self and save the money, one would think the powder would stick better to a rougher surface. Just get after them with a really fine grit sandpaper.
You could always buy a cheap sandblaster from harbor frieght and see where that gets you.

That is a really good idea. I dunno why I din't think of it. I don't need to take the previous finish off. I just need to take the shine out of it.

i paid 105 a wheel for mine, included all prepwork (chemical stripping, sandblasting etc) and minor curb rash repair. Also the color had an effect on price. Mine was a 3 step process - clear over black over chrome. came out real nice. diff colors have different prices obviously. i think a color similar to mine (ultra black chrome, in case that wasnt obvious lol) would look good on silver
