What chip?!

Whats the best chip to get? thinkin of going with the gforce. I wanna hear all opinions and experiences from people that have chipped their 3.

Is there anything else I should do at the same time to compensate for this change? Anythying else I should know about before just throwing this in to my car?

when you say chip, are you talking about that ebay s*** where is like
"60HP 50MPG!" i think you can spend your $80 else where. If they actually worked everyone and their mother would have one.

Honestly, the only plug and play "chip" id ever buy for a reg 3 is a hypertech.

Yeah see thats what worried me. So I called gforce and talked to the techs.

Allegedly this chip will give you a dyno-guaranteed 25-30 HP on the mazda 3s. On the website it says "60" which is obviously blowing smoke. I think maybe they got 60 on a certain model of car so they attach that number to all their chips.

Anyway, the guy on the phone said if I don't get 25-30 HP gain or I'm not happy with it for any reason I can return it for free. Guaranteed. So we'll see.

I'll post a review once I pop it in.

Because it would be a waste of money. You have to ask yourself how can a "company" test EVERY SINGLE CAR around and make a chip that is "just for that car" (I went to gforce's website and its a joke). Also, I don't think you can even "chip" newer cars since the ECU won't even have a spot to hold such a thing. Another thing would be price.. Howcome hypertech sells a flash for $500 that will only increase hp a little versus a $70 POS that claims to do triple the increases with no proof. If you buy it and install it in (good luck with that) then there is a chance your car will run lean and go ka bloomy.

if it really worked everyone would have one and not think twice about the hypertech..

This BS...... it tricks the PCM Via IAT into thinking it's constant temp.

It has no tuning at all it will not help with throttle response, Timing or anything like that.
