What car did you trade in for your CX-5?

We paid cash but yesterday the "donate your car to charity" tow truck came and took away my 2002 GMC Safari. The Safari (or Astro) is like the little girl who "when she was good she was very very good, but when she was bad she was 'orrid." :) Unfortunately, my Safari had been building up speed on that slippery slope leading to the abyss of ever more 'orrid. If the local food bank can get some money out of it with a simple telephone call on my part that seems like a much better situation than me trying to flog a "104K miles, electrical/body issues, please take this off my hands" vehicle on Craigs List.

cheers,
Michael

2004 Vauxhall Signum V6 3.0 Cdti at 95,0000 miles ( GM brand sold only in the UK for our American Cousins).
Was an excellent and very roomy especially for the rear passengers Exec hatchback with plentiful performance and up to 45mpg on free running roads. Didn't have the prestige badge of some German brands so never really caught on over here even, so it was an underrated car which I bought at approx. half the sticker price of a new one with 4000 demo miles on it.

Traded for the Mazda as it was due a few hefty bills and I needed a taller vehicle to assist elderly parents finding low cars a bit too troublesome to get in and out. So far loving the ride height, nimble handling and performance from the 4 pot auto Diesel. My Wife says it handles like our often missed VW Golf GTi Mk2!

I traded in two cars; Audi A2 1.4 TDi SE @ 12 years old with 72K miles, and a VW Golf 2.0 TDI GT @ 10 year old with 110k miles.

I've never had cars for this long before (that says a lot), loved both of them, but it's just time for both cars to be replaced, they have reached that point where repair bill will not be justifiable. I was therefore looking for something a bit bigger inside, higher driving position and still a little bit fun to drive.

After test driving a Nissan Qashqai, Kia Sportage, Ford Kuga and Honda CR-V. The CX-5 was by far the best car both for quality and driver experience, just wished I'd test drove this one first!

Just have to wait on delivery now! One new CX-5 2.2 2WD Sport in meteor Gray and Stone leather trim :-), been told 2-3 months! I now have time to think about any dealer options, any recommendations?

I replaced a 2004 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab with the CX-5. I opted to sell it private party instead of trading it in. It was a minor hassle for another $1500 (in other words, completely worth it). It was a great vehicle to have around for home projects, towing our ski boat, etc but the gas mileage was pretty abysmal. The thing would average in the mid teens, with the boat you'd be lucky to get more than 10. I will miss that V8 power though (the 20 year old in me still liked to smoke the tires once in awhile (drive2) ) It was pretty reliable at 129,000 miles, I'm sure I'll eventually regret selling it.

Our other vehicle is a Trailblazer my wife bought while we were still dating. I didn't like it at first but I've grown to appreciate it. The Chevy handles like a wet noodle (as does every other Chevy truck I've ever driven) but has good power for towing and has been pretty reliable for us. With 125,000 I've only had to change a front wheel bearing.

Just traded my 2001 tacoma dbl cab, 224k + on the odo. Loved that truck! Wanted something with a better ride (for the wife) and better fuel economy. Very happy with the GT so far!

I will miss that V8 power though (the 20 year old in me still liked to smoke the weed once in awhile

)

Did you tow the ski with it yet?

We had a Saab 9-5 wagon. Wanted another wagon but there are too few and the ones' available are too small. No regrets but I the CX-5 does not brive like a car, but it comes close. I would have gone with the 6 wagon if it were available in the U.S.

I'm still amazed at the conquest sales Mazda is getting with the CX-5, so many of the buyers are from a variety of other (non-Mazda) brands.

Traded my Wife's 2010 Mazda 3 S Touring Sedan for a 2013 GT. We moved to a location more likely to get snow are and planning to start a family soon so I wanted her to have something with AWD and a little larger than the 3. Getting better mileage was also a nice perk of the CX-5.

2010 Forester AND an '07 350z Roadster (my garage princess) - got a big fat check back from the dealer.

I have sold privately, an hour before I went to the Mazda dealership a 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit.

I Traded in my trusty Red 1.8L Diesel turbo Ford Focus Estate For the lovely CX-5
