We've had the '14 CX-5 GT for a week now (traded the '13 GT). There is DEFINITELY a difference in power. We got the same color blue, so nobody knows that we got ANOTHER new car (that makes 10 since 1998). People are funny (sic). Not everyone is happy for you when you get a NEW car. I've had neighbors, co-workers, family, make remarks like :"You like to waste money", "Must be nice to be rich" (I'm not) , "You didn't need a new car."...If I'm not in a good mood, I' MAY respond: "It's MY money"..Or" Why do you care what I do?"...If I'm in a good mood, I may explain to them that I was driving over 50 miles, round trip to work, and my wife was driving 70 miles round trip. I'd mention that it's knowing WHAT car to pick and when to get rid of it. In the late '90's, it was the Subaru Foresters, in the early 2000's it was the small crew cab pick up trucks. Example: Bought the Subarus for $24000, got $22000-$22500 for trades, a Nissan Frontier ('00) $24000, got $24000 for a trade....There is one neighbor, that this REALLY bothers. I told her (me not in a good mood). You have a piece of crap 2005 Sant Fe in your driveway and you have a lot more money in that, than I have in my NEW Mazda. What you paid for it, what you paid to maintain it (lots), what you paid to REPAIR it (lots), what you pay for gas . It's full of dents and scratches and don't forget the rust. And when you trade it in you'll get next to nothing.....I'll keep doing things my way. She doesn't talk to me very much anymore.
