you are killing your fuel pump if you are filling up when the light comes on...
I killed mine by doing this. My problem was a little more severe as I let it go to almost its brink. The light does come on earlier than most other cars and if it is filled up within miles of the actual light coming on no harm will be done. Like I said I let mine get extremely low...(to the point of the needle not moving when the car went on...lol)

ive ran my car out of gas coming off a mountain once hehe. that sucked. but anyways i use 93chevron and mobil1 whenever i see a station. i think i just like their name lol

regular either esso/sunco/petro canada.
(87 octane).... its recommended... my car isnt that special anyway.... its no MSP/MSM... lol. +I'm poor...

Most of the time it is Amoco/BP Ultimate 93. Then if I want to when I go up to Maryland on the weekends I will stop at a Sunoco and get some of there Super Premium 94 Octane. 99% of the time it is Amoco Ultimate

something wrong with my post jersey oh wait i know u have to have ur name in every thread i forgot? (laugh)

Eh? It's all the same to the fuel pump as long as the pickup is still submerged. If the pump has to move air instead of gas, it'll damage it, but there's still plenty of gas in the tank when the light comes on to prevent starvation unless you're hogging the turns or driving on banked roads.

Heh, btw, love your sig! :)

BP/Amoco 93
