What are these inputs for?

Fellow CX-7 owners:

I attached 2 pics of my radio from my 2007 CX-7, one from the rear and one from below.
What are those inputs, that are not labeled, for?

Also, which is the most cost effective way to add Sirius or XM satelite to my Mazda. I don't want to spend $300+ for a factory installed unit. There is got to be another way?

Thanks
Nick

I'd assume the bottom is for the CD changer if you had one. Probably just make everything modular so they aren't making half a dozen different boards.

The other one I could only guess is for the factory Sirius install.

the input on the back, just to the left of the antenna input, is for the iPod module from mazda. i just installed mine (which, by the way, i hate) and thats where it plugged into. as for the input on the bottom, i have no idea. but i know its not for the disc changer, i have the 6 disc, not mp3, cd changer and when i pulled out my head unit and saw that input on the bottom, i wondered what it was for.
anyway, hope i helped! :)

CJS525,

Can you share more info about the iPod module from Mazda. I'm going to test drive one this weekend and am very interested in iPod compatibility. Is it true that you can't have both Sirius and iPod?

Hey NickyD, just curious how the head unit removal process went?
I have diagrams on where to start and where all the clips are.
Did you need any tools to slide the radio out? Did you have the
NAV option?

thanks

Actually, unless you are going to spend all of your time in your car, get a portable unit. I bought an XM Sportscaster and I love it. It has a magnetic antenna, plugs into the power port, and has a suction cup mount for the windshield or wherever you want to put it. It is very simple to use and has only a few buttons. (easier when driving) The beauty is, that in about 30 seconds it goes in any other vehicle. I have several cars, so its perfect. It just broadcasts to the FM reciever. The whole setup was 40 bucks plus the XM subscription. You can also add a headphone/battery kit and its portable, or there is a home kit too. A friend installed a hard mounted unit in his truck and now wishes he hadn't because he is limited to that vehicle only.
