what are the problems with the MP3

i am thinking about trading my MSP in for a MP3. I was just wondering what, if any, problems there are for the Mazda Protege 3 or MP3?

example the MSP has a major problem with the waste gate accultor and wastgate in general.

Did you mean Mazda Proteg 5? because MP3 is not short for Mazda Proteg 3, It's a Mazda Proteg MP3 (hence the nice stereo ).
The rear clunk is the same as with the MSP, and has the same fix (evolv's clunk fix). The head unit faceplate has similar issues to the MSP one, and that's about it in terms of real problems. Everything else is close enough to the other Protegs in terms of issues and whanot (rear wheel well rust, etc.)

Agreed with the clunk. Just got the AXR Clunk fix and it is quiet as ever, even with the skunk2 springs I got.

Yeah, there's a HUGE problem between the two. The MP3 is a lot slower. lol

The cheapest clunk fix would be to buy replacement polyurethane bushings and just switch it out. But that is only a temporary fix. After about a year you will need to replace them again. There is only one clunk fix, and that is from AXR.

um does the poly kit help it alot or will there still be a clunk sound... the poly kit is only 50 bucks... and that other clunk fix mod is 200... hmmm

I am unsure what poly kit you are talking about? If you mean just the poly bushings themselves, it sound be about $10-15 for both. I replaced my bushings the first time, but later purchased the AXR clunk fix. The biggest difference is that the clunk hasn't returned, and it also helps a bit with the rear suspension. Keep in mind that the MP3 was initially designed to be used with the "clunk fix" bracket, but mazda decided they didn't want to waste the additional money to do it properly.
