I'd have to say that it was one of the high points of my life, joy riding in somone elses military issue hummer, on some serious off road trails. My friend boroed it from his freind who buys them at auction and sells them at rediculas profit (gets them for 5,000 sells them for 15-25,000  )you want to hear somthing funny? his personal car is an m3. Anyways, words can not discribe the awsomeness of this vehicle! We are going agian tomarro, hopfully it will rain. hehe. Maybe we will take some pics.

Sounds wicked!!! I love those trucks, even though I never even sat in one. Enjoy it buddy, Im sure I speak for alot a people when I say that is one of the things I would like to do before I die ;)

P.S. Pics would be good!!

hell ya, one of my captain buddies woke me up at 7am on a saturday and asked if i wanted a ride in the hummer. it was sweet. went offroading, he actually high centered it. the thing took up the whole flippin road.

and yes get pics

Hummer's are fun...

one time when I was with the 10th Mountain Division, we had to drive at night after a huge rainstorm...there was only one set of night vision goggles, so my driver gave them to me and asked me to see while he drove. it was intense. the mud was headlight-deep and we were seriously drifting. in a HMMWV!!!

being prior service, I've ridden on a lot of different vehicles...my favorite has to be the LAV (Light Armored Vehicle) or the HEMMT, if I'm driving.

It gets old, trust me. I used to have to drive one an hour to the airfield we flew at, then an hour back. EVERY DAY. It is so damn loud that it puts you to sleep. We used to chase the cows at Ft Hood with them. The military ones are dogs though. They have the diesel engines, and they are slow. I once got one up to 85 on a down hill though. But they will pull anything you can get on the hitch. They have some SERIOUS torque. I have driven them off small cliffs before. The military ones are indestructable. We used to climb the hills at Ft Hood with them too. I have one picture of when we were bored ad took one from the motor pool and went up a mountain. There was a huge ditch from water running down the hill. It was like 12 feet deep. But the sides were close enough so that the wheels would stradle it. I have a picture of me standing under it in the ditch, and the hummer is like 8 feet over my head.

HMMWVs are alright if you dont have to drive them everyday. Dont be fooled they do get stuck it aint easy to do but believe me they do. And when there stuck there good and stuck.

Yep! When you need a 5ton truck to pull it out, you are STUCK. I can't count how many times we got hummers stuck. I guess when you try to drive one through a pond, you are probably going to get it stuck. :D
