P.S. Can I just say how much I love the car? It's the big things (like the way it handles, or the way it takes off when you drop into second gear from first) but also the little things (like the fact that unlike every other car I've ever been in, there is no "wind tunnel" when all the windows are down, just a pleasant, perfect breeze). I'm starting to sound crazy. Nevermind, just LOVE the car. Thanks again!

Hey Kamala- are you running those awesome speakers with the stock HU? How's it sound? Any plans to upgrade the HU if you haven't already?

The speakers kick pretty well with the stock HU. Stock speakers were the only thing that disappointed me on the P5 after the sweet sound from the stock system on my 2000 ES. I think they might be just slightly underpowered, so we'll see if there's $$ for an amp after the tuition bill when I get home.

Nice! Does the stock HU have preamp-outs to run into an amp if you go that route?

That's a damn fine question... I'll go searching I've been more worried about painting my calipers and saving up for a CAI to worry further about the stereo.

I hear that. I had two sweet systems (kenwood amps, infinity speakers and subs, alpine HU) stolen out of the car I traded in on my P5. After the second break-in, I vowed that I'd never put anything in the P5 that could be seen through the window (so it would always appear to be the stock system and reduce temptation). So I'm definitely interested in any mods that use the stock HU. Keep us posted on your final system!

Looks like you'll just have to get some real dark tint to hide the goodies... I won't be doing anything real expensive till my car is off the wild Cambridge streets and safe in a garage.
