Weird sound or noise from sub

I recently had a single 12 and amp hooked up to my stock HU. Everytime I turn my car on the sub makes a super loud "ohhhh" type sound. I talked to the installer who said it makes that noise due to the radio powering on everytime I turn my car on. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how'd you fix it?

I have had that happen. I run 2 12's and and amp on my stock HU with a manual controller ... i found that if you turn down your volume (both on the sub control and the radio) it doesn't make that sound or if it does its really quiet ... i think its something we are just going to have to live with ...

unless someone else has any other ideas

I have it from both the sub and the extra speakers I added. And I grounded the living (k) out of everything with redundant ground wires with welding cable, and I have the line outs running down the opposite side of the car away from the power lead. So yeah, I think you just have to live with it and remember to turn your stuff down when you shut it all off.

Huh? Thats weird. I have my 2 10" and amp hooked up and never got any weird noise from them...???

it doesn't happen to me all the time, it seem as if it only happens when im playing a song with alot of bass in it and i leave s*** turned up (not ALLL the way) and then shut the car off. in the warmer months i could care less, its when they are cold and frozen in the -45 crap we get that worries me.
