weird red coil thing (2006 mazda 6)

I have an '06 mazda 6. I had the driver door panel partially off because I was trying to figure out why my speaker wasn't working. While the door panel was off this weird red coil thing well out from the door panel. There was another one just hanging in there. Doesn't look like it is actually connected to anything.

It's like a plastic reel with what looks like a regular wire that is red coiled around it many many times. What is this thing?

I have an ungo car alarm installed. Is this part of it?

Someone's car in the neighbourhood (I can't tell if its mine because of so many cars but the keyfob for the ungo doesn't make a sound) keeps randomly going off. It's like the factory car horn constantly sounding with a siren on top of it. This thing can't be part of the factory alarm system is it?

I've been told it's part of my speaker. Not sure if that makes sense. There is another one there too so they are two.
