So I'm still getting used to my P5, and trying to fix a few issues along the way. One of the main issues still is the E-brake/rear brake calipers, which is/are basically worthless. I have got the calipers un-siezed a bit, but am trying to get the rotors and pads to re-bed again (after serious dis-use from the PO). Anyway, I was working the e-brake some while driving home from work and I seriously can hardly feel it. I thought it wasn't doing anything, until I heard the rear wheels start to skid a bit (its super slick), and then I realized that there just really must be no weight over the rear on these cars.
Does anyone know what the actual weight distribution is for a Protege5? I can't seem to find any reliable statistics anywhere. My other mazda is a miata, which is 50/50, and it will probably take me a bit to internalize I'm driving a fwd car again. . .
Just curious - thanks!
