re: the GTI in the end....don't they realize even a bone stock GTI will end up costing more than the dang ms3? stupid. that video had nice editing, and great quality, but the content is lame (can you really pull much info from what was shown), and the host is useless. i hate the internet.

The only negative I think I saw in that video was how he said the MS3 has oversteer around corners. And for the VW, he said it could use 50 more horsepower. That was about it. If you're going to do a review, how about something a little more insightful, please? Every car can be critiqued more than that.

that was a pretty crappy and basic review of the cars and that GTI at the end was pretty unnecessary. I laughed out loud when I saw the price for an APR stage 3 turbo kit and an APR fuel pump for the new GTI. $7000+ for the turbo kit and like $1300 for a god damn fuel pump. It's sickening.

Rough estimate is buit motor, GT3076 (won't need the GT35R), and tune, with some cash for springs, maybe.

and we are comparative prices with the gti so how much mony did they invest in the gti to get it .4 sec faster then the MS3

this is not to answer the above Q about the modified gti, but

to equip a new stock gti as close as possible to that of a ms3 gt, you are looking at a sticker over 30k. the only difference would be the gti would have a sunroof, heated seats, mirrors and washer nozzles- the sunroof and heated seats i could def use, but still, if mazda DID have those options, it surely would still be several thousand less than said gti. and, sadly, at 30k...it'd still barely break into the 14's.

A GTI is no match for a MS3.

I've seen serveral "chipped" GTI's with DSG at the track and the fastest I've seen one run was 14.3 @99 which is what I ran with several mistakes and worn out tires.

That was some pretty lame s***. Throw on a MS CAI and Coilovers, betcha you see 10-11 sec reduction in those lap times, if not more.
