Was offered $11k for MSP

Audi A6 Sline shares the same 2.7L biturbo as all the other 2.7l audis. S-line is just a suspension/exterior package.

I understand about the ms6 looks, but I quite like it because its toned down. you know its not exactly a standard m6 when you look at it, looks muscular and upscale. I don't think anyone complained that the audi RS6 looked bascially same as the standard a6 with different wheels.

To tell you the truth. I love how the normal Mazda 6 looks, but with the bulkiness of the MS6, I'm not too thrilled about it. I wish they could have put the performance of the MS6 into the body of the normal 6. But, I guess with the 2.7L Turbo engine and the intercooler, they needed to redesign it just a little to make everything fit.

it has a slightly wide fender for looks, but the side skirts fit better that way. As for the hood? its personal preference. I really like it, some don't. Its acutally functional and gives the car a meaty look.

heres my car side profile as example.

As for the balkyness? S4 weighs in at 3800lbs so does the a6 base (assume S-line weighs more), if you go V8 its 4012lbs. That 300lbs more then the ms6 sport and 200 more then the GT. Also a BASE Audi A4 weighs 3549lbs, add those options and its close to 3700lbs with leather/sunroof/18inch wheels.
Honestly ms6 weight is heavy compared to the fwd sibling since it doesn't have awd or chassis reinforments but compared to the cars in its class its not that porky. Don't know why everyone constantly compare this car to the evo/sti?? Its not. Its not as nimble or handles as well but very good for what it is (comparable to the S4). But everyday isn't a track day and when stuckin traffic 99% of the cars driven life, I'm okay with that its not that hardcore and welcome it. I miss the knife fighter razer sharp cornering attitude of the MSP sometimes but overall this car works much better in the real world.

best part is for 23k for sport and 25k for gt, you really can't lose. Its the best value around. Its cheaper then a 4 cylinder accord ex, GTI, GLI and a camry with features and fun to drive goodness.

No doubt about it, MS6 is the best bang for the buck. You get the luxury amenities available, plus the performance compared to higher end luxury cars. What I think people failed to realize was I was in search for an A4, not an A6. NOT even remotely interested in the A6. The only reason I may even consider the A6, was if it HAD the Supercharger with the Turbo, which it doesn't.

Plus, I won't be able to get that $25,000 for the GT because I won't be financing it. So I don't think they will give me the $2500 credit for paying in full.

Now, from the experiences I hear from other people, A4 isn't anything spectacular. I was interested in the 3.0 Quattro with the sports package. It just looks awesome. Plus, leather interior, heated seats, sunroof, etc etc, I just feel it would be the perfect upgrade from the MSP. The only thing I'll be missing from the MSP would be the handling, hopefully the AWD, leather, power heated seats, sunroof, etc would somewhat cancel that out (not too likely).

i think the 3.0 a4s are really nice. Bit bland but definitly a nice car. Make sure to get the extended warrenty though, with iffy audi reliablity and their expensive parts it'll be worth it in the long run.

When buying used cars, definitely the extended warrenty is a must. Even though the car is perfectly sound, it's all about peace of mind (which I don't have with the MSP). I've replaced the head unit twice now, and the heat soak is unbearable when the temperatures exceed 90 degrees.

MS6 is still a possibility though. I'll go to Rosenthal sometime next week and see what they can offer me. If they can give me your deal without the financing, then I'll be set.

well the kenwood breaking isn't mazdas fault, its just a aftermarket thing. As for the MS6, I doubt its gonna be reliable. First application of direct injection and a completely new engine design and transmission. So be wary of that too. Most of this car is electronically controlled, dsc, rear coupling, 2 fuel pumps, 1500psi fuel injectors etc etc. Well least it comes with great warrenty with loaner car. I'm not planning to keep the car more then a few years with this horrid gasmilage but thats to be expected with heavy powerful car.

pfft, i wish a dealer offered me 11k. the msp at 45k miles (i think) is like ~$9000 in galves, which is what they use.

It's the European Golf GT. It has a 1.4l turbocharged and supercharged direct injection engine producing 170hp.

Old thread but $11k sounds good.

there is a twin charged tdi (vw), its a deisel though.

also mk1 mr2's in the late 80's had an available twin charged kit, its extreemley rare and extreemly expensive, ive seen and driven one when i was in cali, it was a beautiful peice of engineering, and man!, that thing hauled ass

If so, I don't think it was an out-the-door option. Starting around '86-87 there was a supercharged MR2 available, and not many were produced. It was a pretty sweet setup and (IIRC) the supercharger pulley was actually clutch driven like an A/C compressor. I've never heard of a factory turbo option until mk2.

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread...

I work at a shop that sees tons of VW/Audi cars, plus a few of my friends own them. I would never buy one. You think the MSP is a pain in the ass... Something as small as changing the headunit can cause all kinds of electrical and/or computer problems. I see it all the time. But hey, that's just my experience / opinion. Ask around with some mechanics you trust that work on lots of different makes/models and see what they tell you.
