Warranty Question

I'm just about to get my MSP this week. It seems that alot of peps are already MOD their MSP's. Doesn't this void the warranty? Wouldn't changing the BOV void the warranty of the engine? I'm scarred to do anything to the car, just because of "what if" something happens and they refuse to fix the problem. Shine the light on the deal for me.

hehe we need a couple stickies in this forum

1) mods to do to msp
2) warranty claims/information
3) MSP vs. SRT4

;)

I agree Dexter!:D Everyones dealer interprets mods differently!Hell my dealer is helping me with mods! Some dealers are not so anal about trying to void your warranty. The warranty repair gets paid to the dealer by Mazda so i'm not sure why dealer's try to turn down warranty repairs when it is money in their pocket's?(scratch)

Yes, the question is:
What is a MazdaSpeed MOD??(scratch)

I haven't seen them!
My dealer is installing Spool turbo kits on new Proteges,How do you like them apples?

It's called the Manguson-Moss act. No one aftermarket can void your entire warrAnty.

if your dealer is anal then make sure all of your mods are replaceable, frankly i think the msp can handle anything you give it, as long as you don't f/with the fuel cut

They turn them down because they don't get paid as much as when they do off warranty repairs.

I was being sincere and nice that time. :(

I know i was just giving you a hard time!We gotta have some fun on here too!(2thumbs)

There is a blue MP3 in my bay right now with what appears to be a rod knock and my dealership is trying to give the guy a hard time about his K&N filter voiding the powertrain warranty, but I think I convinced them that it couldn't damage anything that bad.

LMAO, Sorry RX-KEvin, but if my dealer said a frikin air filter caused a rod knock, Id take my car home and the next time they saw me would be in front of the judge. That is uber bulls***, and just goes to serve the point that the majority of service mgrs and techs at the dealers are the bottom of the barrel. (dont take that personally dood, you seem pretty knowledgable, and have good info, Im jsut going off my past expierences, others expiereinces, and my own knowledge, yes Im a mechanic also.)

It's all good the #4 rod bearing was toast (28000 miles) and we covered it under warranty. My dealership isn't too anal

they just want to cover there asses. lets say the dealer replaces an engine and a mazda rep just happens to hear about it, or actually walk in and verify that the warranty hasn't been voided. It has happened!

You can be sure that anything that happens to the MAZDASPEED division of cars will be strictly watched by mazda. for example when my I/C to turbo pipe cracked and I got a new one under warranty, there was a mazda rep that picked the pipe up cause they wanted to avoid any shipping issues, he even asked me if I knew how/why it broke.

mods?

So....as the question still stands, what mods can we do to our MSP/MP3`s w/out having to void warrenty?
