hey has anyone had any problems with dealer trying to not cover you i blew a rod in my car and there saying it wont be coverd because of my boost controller. if anyone has had a problem with warranties write me back and let me know if there is a way around it!

You went to the dealer with a boost controller on? You're screwed. There's no way to get that repair warrantied, because your drivetrain warranty is voided.

yeah i told my boyfriend to take the wires off and he said no it will be fine. im going to kill him. but someone told me i could claim it on my insurance as property damage and someone also told me that there is a act like a law that says they cant void me you know anything about that or anything

The law won't protect you in this case, because the boost controller is easily proven as the cause of the thrown rod.

For others that may do this.....I have an idea. I hood lock will be going on my car next time I bring it to the dealer.(thumb)

Actually from some of the stories I've been reading, you might have been SOL even without the boost controller on.

1 - The law you're referring to is the Magnuson-Moss Act, which states that a manufacturer cannot deny a warranty claim on a car simply because it's been modified. However, they can deny a warranty claim if the modified part caused the failure. In your case, they could easily claim that the boost controller allowed the car to be pushed past its mechanical limits.

2 - No, you can't claim it on your insurance -- car or homeowners. The only type of insurance that would cover this is the mechanical breakdown coverage offered by some insurance companies (e.g., GEICO), but you have to specifically purchase that -- it's not included in a normal policy. But, the boost controller would probably poo-poo that, too.

Details, please. If it was stock, why would the claim be denied?

You're basically out of luck. How much boost were you running?
I'm curious too...And what mileage? Flashed/unflashed??

You're ****** harder than Jenna Jameson in a gangbang. No way, no how they'll warranty that now. Your BF is a complete FUCKTARD. Now you will have to shell out 2,000 bucks for a rebuild. Buy forged this time. JE pistons, Pauter rods. Or if you wanna go the economical route. Check www.mazdarecyling.com for a shortblock from a p5 or 2.0 sedan. Message me if you have any more questions.
