$30-$75 is chump change. But if your a chump roll over and take it! I spent $145 and won $3,000 in small claims court for a situation involving breach of contract and a car.

I guess I'll have to change dealerships as well. I figured the boost controller would get then itchin to void, but the gauge i think they would leave aside. Possibly the bov as well.

One good thing now is.... you can get that downpipe you wanted to get
idk if they took pics of anything aside from the engine bay. i know for fact they took pics of the engine bay. and i will def be getting the downpipe now. i actually have a lot of news for you. i found a local turbo shop...**** man. i'll call you or something.

Time to call the BBB. They can't void your entire warranty. Time to raise the bulls*** flag.
This is exactly why I hid my boost line with wire loom and routed in areas they wouldn't see. All I have to do is unplug the boost gauge and take my Mearcat pod out, which is velcro'd to the pillar.

Forget about B2B being voided. They cannot "void" a warrant (treat it as if never existed), but they can deny coverage for a specific repair and refuse to perform further work on your car.
Get the repairs done elsewhere by a certified mechanic, find out what the problem is and if it seems unrelated take them to small claims court. If it is related to your mods, you have to eat it, but you could still ask the dealer if they really want any further unrelated warranty work to be done elsewhere and paid for Mazda anyway.
All dealers are not jerks. It depends on where you go and your relationship with them. If you never went before and you show up with a problem and tons of mods you're just asking for trouble.
However, if you build the relationship and they know you and you have an issue, you can bring in your car with an MBC, Gauges, FMIC, Test Pipe, Map Clamp and still get your issue fixed under warranty if your mods had nothing to do with the issue.
In your case I would assume that the Map Clamp caused your problem. Specially if you were having problems with it.

not responding to gas....hmmm. i think my gf got a recall on her 07 ms3 something about a flash for throttle position sensor or something. when she took it in they also installed a new turbo....with her 3in race pipe and cbe there was a lot of smoke comin out. bad hitachi-warner turbo batch.
I would call the dealership and ask to speak with the General Manager. I would explain the situation to him, emphasizing that his employee knew about each and every mod. Then I'd tell him, when I call Mazda North America, I'm going to explain that his dealership misled me into thinking the mods would not void the warranty This is kind of OT, but oh what the hell. I don't seem to have a knack for short posts, so here goes...
My wife drives a 2007 Toyota Camry. It's been making a funny rattling noise when you sit still, put it in drive, and crank the wheel to one side...like something is loose and vibrating. She's taken it to the dealership 3 times now for the same noise. We always arranged for a ride, so we didn't need a rental from them (just because of the hassle with the rental paperwork, etc).
The last time we picked it up, we spoke with the Service Manager. He said they had finally fixed the rattling by tightening a heat shield. The A/C also had a funny smell and we asked them to take a look at that. The SM said that the A/C system needed to have their "refresher service", which was $89.99, but I told him no thanks. I told him we weren't going to pay for the A/C refresher, but I was going to call Mazda and tell them about the problem and that I wanted it covered under warranty. He said it wouldn't matter because Mazda would just call them. He was really coming off like and ass. My wife then asked what would happen if the noise came back. He said that we would have to bring it back in, but they wouldn't give us a rental car...which we happened to need this time. I explained to him that we were going to go over his head, and that I can be quite the dick when I want to be...and my wife is even worse.
The next day, my wife called the General Manager of the dealership. She hinted that we may try to Lemon Law the car because this noise they couldn't fix met the requirements, and the smell could be mold which would be a health hazard for our family. (bird) She also told them that we were going to call Mazda NA and express our concerns.
We immediately had an appointment first thing the next morning. Rather than a rental, they were going to let us take a brand new Camry off the lot. The called later in the day to say that we could keep the new Camry for another day because they were going to replace various exhaust components and they were on order from Mazda. She picked it up today. They performed their little "refresher service", detailed the car inside and out (which was great...it hadn't been done in awhile...shame on me), and paid some guy to give it an "ION Treatment"...whatever the hell that is. Either way, the car looks new, smells new, and as of yet is not making any noises it shouldn't be.
The moral of the story boys and girls: b**** enough to someone high-enough about something that will hit close to home. Make sure they know you're willing and ready to throw them under the bus to get your way. I agree with the BBB idea too. I usually like to combine all of my ****** up ideas into a wonderful medly of threats, actions and intimidation tactics. In the end, persistence ALWAYS wins over resistance.(evil)

If it's any consolation, I feel for ya man. I'm not going to jump on the "you play, you pay" bandwagon. This could very easily have been any of us. I don't think you went in thinking you'd get screwed...or you wouldn't have gone in. Sometimes you get complacent in your car mods because the car runs so well with them. I know I do.

i could have warned you about Galpin man. i went their to get my ms3 after negotiating with someone over the phone. once i got there, it was a complete different story and they wouldn't honor the deal. THEN, they called me back the next day and told me to come back and that they'd honor the deal. they didn't honor the deal. i was so ******* pissed. keep in mind, this is over an hour away from my house. i felt like setting the finance office on fire. this is, for the most part, a quote:
"if you can get that deal, you'd better take it because that's impossible. we're the biggest mazdaspeed dealer in the nation and if we can't do it, nobody can"
Galpin ******* sucks man.
so i went to star mazda of Glendale and they treated me very well.
they also can't void your warranty if the mods are unrelated. it doesn't seem like any of your mods would affect the throttle...

as of right now, the car is sitting at turbo performance in van nuys cali. they will be working on it tomorrow. they tried a few things today, but had no luck. it appears to be an electrical problem.
i will be calling mazda tomorrow or saturday
FYI, in order to deny a warranty repair, the dealer has the burden to prove that the aftermarket part(s) caused the failure for which you are seeking warranty coverage. See the Magnuson-Moss Act. I would send the dealer a certified letter demanding that the repair be made under the warranty. If they refuse, have it repaired elsewhere and then sue them in Small Claims Court for your repair costs...
