Warranty and Mods...?

Unfortunately dealers in our area are now smart enough to tell their customers--in writing--what the CAI can do to the engine. Thus relieving themselves of their warranty duties upon hydrolock (or whatever) of the engine.

Sucks.

Buy an Injen Water Sock (pre-filter), they work with puddles. Not so much with flooded roads.

Didn't somebody (I think AEM) come up with a little flapper valve that would prevent hydrolock on CAIs? It was a spring loaded flapper that would stay shut under normal operation but as soon as the filter becomes submerged, the vacuum produced in the tubing would open the flapper allowing air to rush in above the filter, preventing it from sucking up the water. Similar to what happens when you crack a straw on your slurpee at 7-11 and you can't get that yumminess down fast enough

Yeah, I remember seeing that back in the day... They no longer use it?

I always thought hydrolock was an insurance matter and covered by them not warranty anyway.

I think if you drive cautiously in the rain and avoid large puddles and try not to cross where the water touchest the bottoms of cars you'll be ok. I do think its the dealers responsibility for taking care of a hydrolocked car b/c of a part they installed. That situation should be used with reason if they towed ur car from a pool where you should've brought the hummer I say your the dumbass to begin with heh.
