Warped Hood

I have a DGM hood that I bought last fall, and after keeping it in the garage over the winter it seems to have warped a little bit. Can anyone give me some pointers on what to do to make it warp back and sit flush with the fender again? Here's some pics to show ya what I mean.

Have you tried lowering your latch? I would try lowering the latch and then raising the rubber stops on each front corner to bring the front back up. Another option is to wait until it gets hot out and park it in the sun, it MAY go back into shape. Btw, how did you have it stored to cause this?

Yea.. but the props only caused it to go up a little bit more. It was like that beforthem being installed.

The hood was stored in the box it came in and laid flat the whole winter so I'm not sure how this happened myself..

do you have hood props?

oh no, that's really warped! Well I'd at least disconnect the hood struts for now, they aren't helping the matter. I hope my fiber images hood still fits when I put it on today :)

Word has it you have multiple hoods

no I only have two in my posession still :P traded one, sold another, one died in the accident :P

you could just get the whole hood painted to match your car, cheaper than a new hood :) my fiber images EVO (the newer evo vent style) hood is painted sunlight silver (upbum)

Well my car is 4sale so I'm looking the cheapest way and getting it painted is not that cheap.

~300 dollars to get it done well with brand name paint. If my new winter hood wasn't just painted yesterday I'd be willing to sell it :P

Ok .. then what? Heat? Hood pins? I talked to DGM and they said to just leave it on there and it should go back.

I don't understand why these lastest hood props being offered are causing a flex in the middle of CF hoods. When I was making them and offering them to our local guys, it was not an issue in the slightest form. Prehaps it has to do with the way the brackets are made?

Do as DGM suggested.
