Warning: Don't do dumb stuff in your sig

You may have noticed you can use HTML in your Sigs. That's a privilege.
Some people have been taking advantage of that by writing scripts and flash movies with liveconnect and style tags and other creative ways of being annoying. These are people who are bored and have nothing better to do with their time. Us admins, however, do have better things to do, so if we have to log into the admin cp, find someone's account, go edit the account and remove the stupidity from the sig, then that user is most likely getting at minimum a temp ban. And every time I have to dig through the VB code to implement a workaround for these childish games increases the duration of that temp ban.

As for anyone who may be worried about getting banned, rest assured, we don't ban for nothing (opening up the admin cp takes time and effort), so if you're not a dick, and you haven't done anything wrong, then it's virtually impossible to get banned. Basically... don't be a dick.

Maybe I should have been more clear.
I don't really care what you do in your sig, as long as it's doesn't screw up the page, by doing stuff like

- editing or replacing text on the page
- popups
- changing background colors of the whole page
- any other creative way to disrupt the functionality the site

Beyond that do what you want, but, please try to show consideration for people who have to actually see your sig.

enry, while your at it, i think kooldinos sig is too big. im posting this here because he saw fit to remove my sig and new thread posting privileges becaseu he thought mine was big. hypocrisy at its finest.

ghetto s*** like this is why I never thought HTML sigs were a good idea in the first place

having to watch after people and clean up their bulls*** is just too much of a liability and waste of time

the red box was created to show max height

he didn't make the box the max width - that is explained on the thread he started about it

important passages to read carefully:

Therefore, we are setting the size limitation to 300x~750 pixels.

...

If you think that your signature may be too large, you can use the following 300x300 image to test it. Simply open the image in a small image viewer window and compare the height against your signature.

I would have included a 750 pixel image as well, but the only thing that matters width wise is that it does not cause horizontal scroll bars to appear at 1024x768.

length, width, any way you look at it his sig is bigger than that red box in every dimension. i just thought id point out the hypocritical bulls*** that goes on around here. maybe if i become a vendor and start paying a monthly fee, i will be allowed to do as i please.

the content of his sig easily fits vertically within that red box

This should be the first rule for the forums. Of course then more than half the people here would get banned(myself included)...cause hey, we're all dicks(laugh)

are you looking at the same sig im looking at? his sig is 3X the height of yours.

maybe your computers on crack jose....

screen shot to show you...

I've been trying to keep the idiot population down. Been doing all I could with my sig (second)

no, the problem is that your screen is displaying his font in a smaller size, therefore making his sig look small. on my computer however, it HUGE and i know im not the only one becasue i posted it in the illinois section and it was large on someone elses screen.

i have my resolution at 1280 X 1024 and his sig takes up 7 vertical inches of space on my screen.

Man, all you had to do was crop the right side of your sig and it would have been fine. There is no hypocrisy at all... there was a rule that was made (without you having anything to do with the new size requirements), your sig was too wide and did not meet the new requirements, end of story. How many other people read that thread and just said, "ok, my sig is too tall or too wide, I will change it", and then did so without making a huge fuss or saying "well just increase your resolution then"?

And also, KD's sig is nowhere near 3x the size of nate's... as the picture in senor's post clearly shows.

(crazy)

before anyone starts bitching at me, understand what i am looking at and why im a little bent out of shape.

this pic is what i see on my computer when i look at his sig and im wondering why he was giving me s*** about my sig. while it may not be big to you,it looks ginormous to me.
