Today i spent like 4 hrs of my time washing/waxing my car....
i ended up feeling i have a broken back but when i look at the car.... WOW! Meguires Gold is the ShietZ! Go get it! My car is like those showroom cars now..... so freaking shiny!

That is the only wax I will use... I would agree that it is the Shiznit.. For your info... I went to Target to get a playstation game and decided to walk through the automotive isles. I came across the Meguiars Gold Class box set. It was left over from X-Mas and has Gold Class Wash Shampoo, Gold Class Wax, Gold Class Endurance Tire Gel, Gold Class Leather Conditioner ( Ha no leather seats ), Meguires Scratch X, 1 big ass sponge for washin and an aplicator sponge for the wax. You also get a free matchbox car to play with.. heh.. All that for $24 ( marked down from $35 ). The bottle of wax alone costs $16. So a great deal if you can find them. They only made a limited amount. It comes in a big black wooden box. Pretty tight for a left over X-Mas gift.

Thanks for the tip! I'd been driving a company car for the last 3 years so I didn't do any waxing. I was wondering what everyone else was using. I've got just over 1200 miles on mine now and she needs a good coat to get her ready for the warmer weather. (3 months and only 700 miles of driving. I've been neglecting her)

I plan to do the entire Meguiar's lineup this spring/summer after the spring thaw(it's too painful to do anything other than give it a good wash once a week as it'll be dirty again in about 10 seconds).

One question....does anybody use a powered car buffer when doing the waxing/polishing or just by hand?

I've always done it by hand, but I've considered a buffer. Scared it will screw up the paint though. I've been waiting to get an idea of what a pro or a friend with good results uses, but everyone I know does it by hand also.

You know screwing up the paint is my fear too....I say screw the buffer on having thought of it for awhile. It may take longer, but I'd much rather feel safe that I'm not going to wreck my paint job than to save myself some time.

If you are just waxing,do yourself a favor and do it by hand!
As a guy with 14yrs. experience painting cars , the best way to get yourself in trouble is with a buffer! If you have a friend who is a pro he can show you how to polish and buff! If not , safe is better than sorry I'm trying to write a tech article on paint care, but my time is somewhat limited
