I currently own a 2007 CX-9 - first time Mazda owner and I working on the 3.5 ford engine ! I’m trying to find out if a “seal” or o-ring is damaged or if it’s supposed to be split. They are split at an angle and seem to have hardened - I’m actually wondering if a regular o-ring would work.
I’m attaching a picture - on the VVT solenoid- the housing for lack of a better word or the oiler or case that it seems to call it.
That is where the seal or o-ring is located
In the first photo that is blocked/ squared off. There are 3 and 2 as far as qty needed per side.
