VTEC Dave stopped waitin', now which car should he get?

Bill, she test drove them when she was interested in keeping her payment around $260-$300 like she was paying for her Cavalier. I told her there wasn't much available for the price except those really.

When I showed her how much more you got for the money and she enjoyed the power (xB had zero torque/hp but was a comfy cruiser), she was sold on the CX-7. You should have heard her kick and scream about it at first. She was like "Why are you trying to get me into a SUV? I don't want a big car!" Then when she drove it she was like "wow..this is actually a really fun car to drive, doesn't even seem like an suv!"

interested to see the outcome of this lol

why did we close the other thread?

Dont buy a damn lease trade in!!!!!!!!!!

LOL... At least she isnt in that XB. Seriously would be one of the last cars I ever considered. I would cram my fat ass into a Yaris first.

dealers are hurting for sales yes but they are far from giving the farm away. they will not lose money on a car. he might break even but i think it's a long shot.

Definitely, first figure out what you're interested in, then once you settle on one model, go to several dealers and get competitive pricing from each.

I really hope you listen to someone this time and don't get burned.

well i have already decided, if i can't fetch 13-14k for the car im keeping it until spring rolls around and then ill see where im at financially and job wise...but until then the car is going on autotrader im gonna list it for 16k or best offer....sucks for the next owner i guess lol.

Well what I was telling Dave to do is atleast start shopping trades. Go to a few dealers, find out realistically what he's going to expect on a trade in first.

I would honestly go to a Scion dealer and shop trades.

Even if you're not remotely interested in Scion at all..just shop a trade, find out who would be willing to give you what. Then atleast you can find out exactly what you can expect out there.

Reason I say Scion is - they are a no haggle dealer. They won't give you more to give you a better deal on the Scion. They don't haggle price. So atleast get an upfront answer on the trade in.

so I was thinking of going to victory nissan in ohio get a ser spec v.....they would love to have this car again lol

I have a friend w/ a Sentra SER...aparenlty they are junk, especially the V-Spec

We an 06 no V-spec. Fun little car to drive but in the end they are all poop.

But you have to find something that works for you.
why wouldn't the escort be alive? they run forever. they're like waiting for vtek but in their case it's waiting for them to die lol

well yeah that is true. Right now the escort is down with a leaking brake booster. Stupid Advance Auto parts. Hopefully it will be up in the next week or two.

Escorts did not live forever, ask my sister about that. The late model ones were a little better than the early model ones but then you had to drive that god awful couple... UGLY. And, what do you mean dealerships wont lose money on trade ins? Every car I have traded in I have exceeded KBB. Look at what you did trading in that Explorer. They lost their ass on that Ray. Maybe they are all tight where you are but that isnt the case else where.

the 95/96's models are generaly the better of the escort generations. My main issue with is the age more anything. s*** is just old

you should always get more then KBB if it is a decent dealership. If they cant give you a fair price, walk that is what I do. PLus KBB is alway svery low compared to Edmunds/the black book and NADA. I usually take all four and then deside what I want on trade in for my car. The dealers are usually pretty clese to my estimate.

Blatantly, they will lose money on a trade in to sell you a new car!

Exactly!! That's why I said Dave- shop your trade, when you find a car that's really worth it to you, you'll have the AMMO that you've stopped at these places (names of dealerships, addresses and all) and have pricing for your quote. THEN, you can bargain/haggle/negotiate/strain/wheel and deal, or otherwise do what's called "BUYING A NEW CAR!"

no they made money on me beleave me. thats not always the case. i still rolled money into my new one prob to much buut my situation was diff then dave's.

so ray took me to get a market value.....with my mileage whole sale is about 11k at least its a starting....if I can't get 13 to 14 I'm sitting on the car as I said before
