Here it is, back by popular demand. Dave is out shopping for potential replacement for his '06 Si, so chime in and let him know what he should buy. I'll let him fill in the details on his situation.

Keep it on-topic or I'll have Kane come in and prune it!

LMFAO! Retarded Drama!!!!

Get a reliable car that has a good warranty. You are dick broke with ZERO money and look to be rolling a bigger deficit over into a new car. You need a financial advisor or a parent! Get a standard 3 wagon or something like that. At least then you can have all our speed parts laying around for cheap or free and have a nice 3 that handles well, has a good warranty and will last you 3 years without killing your pocket book again!

+1, get a BRAND NEW '09 , S model with a manual trans. It will be cheaper, offer good mileage and performance, and be easily upgradeable with MS3 parts.

Here's what I built that would be a solid car for ya:

With A,Z or S that will only by 18500. Plus our 5500 down and say you get 14500 for your trade in... You are looking at a much cheaper payment.

That is if he can get out what he owes on his Si, otherwise some of that $5500 is gonna have to cover the difference, but the remainder should still be enough to get him going.

Also, I think theres cash back on those, so you might get closer to $16,000 before TTL, which would be even better for you, and put you in a nice $250-300 a month payment.

Read my post again. I put in there that if he got 14500 for his trade in AND the 5500 down with A plan... He has to eat the loss in the si that is also carried over from his 3 before that.

Whoops, skipped right over that part. Still true, he'll get into a lower payment because its a new car and he'll have no neg. equity once he gets rid of the Si.

That or the hatchback would be a good choice, I know Dave wants something faster and who doesnt but he got himself in a bad situation and this seems to be a good way to put it to rest, not another used "performance" car.

I think a 3 or an '08 6 (if there are any left) would be a good choice for Dave. The '09 6 is a bit pricey IMO.

Ok, so lets lay odds on what Dave gets. I think the vote would be between...

1. 09 WRX
2. 09 MS3 (08.5 if any avail.)
3. 07 or later Speed6
4. 09 Mazda3
5. 09 or later Civic si
6. Other

1. 09 WRX - Love it at first, hate the gas mileage driving to school
2. 09 MS3 (08.5 if any avail.) - if you go for an enthusiast car, the way to go
3. 07 or later Speed6 - bang for the buck, hard to find, gas mileage is mediocre, do you want to chance a used car again?
4. 09 Mazda3 - the economical choice, either 4 or 5-door variant...MS3 parts are abundant
5. 09 or later Civic si - i would hope he learned his lesson with not having torque and poor quality the first time...
6. Other - I don't know what else could fall in here, maybe Cobalt SS, GTI, etc.? Or something more practical?

My thoughts are above.

hmm....so I guess I should chime in on this lol.....as of now I really don't know wat I want, but I plon on starting to shop next tuesday after 4, if anyone wants to come let me know

I told him he's gonna put a ton of miles on the car and wear it out, so why not get a car that'll be reliable, efficient and inexpensive? And save the go fast car for later?

I mentioned Scion XB as an inexpensive and fun car. Heck, why not.

Well there's no sense in getting a Mazda 3 when they're already redesigning it and releasing a 2010 model within the 1st or 2nd quarter of 2009.

And the Impreza is more butt ugly than the Scion. I really like the XB. That's what Crystal almost got after we went and test drove them. It just had a lack of power..

sorry but I won't own a scion.....and I can wait for the new 3 give me time to save more money and pay off more neg equity

Suit yourself. You also told yourself you were too bored with an automatic and look where it got you.

Yeah, he made a spur of the moment decision and it cost him in the long run.

Dave, the point is this, you need to get out and legitimately research what you're gonna buy for your next car. Lay out some factors that you want to seriously consider (price, trans, body type, features) so that people can make an informed response and give you ideas.

I'd suggest that you have someone go with you to be the voice of reason when you go shopping, simply to help curb you from making a rash or ill-advised decision and avoid the situation that you are getting out of.

Factor in how much you drive too, who/what you might carry, how long you plan on keeping it, and what your plans are for the car. The more legitimate info you give us, the more specified a response you can get.

Not to be a dick, but you gotta admit you ****** up when you bought the Si. Think it through a little bit, talk it over with your parents/friends/etc., and ultimately make an informed decision.
