VTA or Recirc

It only runs rich when you shift gears or let off. Last time I checked I don't accelerate when I LET OFF the throttle, thus running richer would not affect anything to do with performance. I guess you may get a couple more backfires due to the richness, but other than that I cannot see any other cons.

I already have a CEL for running the 3" MAF and no cats, so that doesn't really bother me. Although I have never had to clear (or heard of) a CEL for "running rich"...

Running rich won't effect your performance...but it will eventually gum up your injectors and spark plugs...oh..and by the way the CEL code for system to rich is P2188 -Bank1....so run your TBV how you like..just trying to save some people extra work changing out misfiring plugs n' such..

VTA can trigger check engine lights.
VTA gives you a louder sound
Recirc less chance of check engine lights
Recirc quieter than a VTA

car runs better in recirc no question about it---just all in all smoother. How do I know? becuase I have tried both ways just after installing my FMIC---plus the HKS in VTA is WAYYY TO LOUD! very ricer....plus i dont miss the gunshot backfires....

...also, CPE specifically says NOT to run in VTA unless you have the CPE EMS; guys they say this for a reason!

Went with the Recirc mode... Which is what I wanted not to ricey...sleeper status still in affect...ofcourse after they hear the turbo spool up because of the CAI then their eyebrow's are raised.

i have the turbosmart ultimate hybrid. set it up 50/50 right now and it seems to drive perfectly no problem. although sometime during shifts, especially if i'm wot going thru the gears, i get some backfires. other people think it's cool but i know that it's not good, i'm gonna block off the vta portion. other than that rock solid boost! i love this bpv/bov.

Theres nothing wrong with the occasional backfire, just think of it at cleaning your exhaust valves.

I'm looking into the Turbo XS hybrid from Ken at PG. I want the sound to be there, and from what I've seen in videos/sound clips, it's not too bad. If I go recirc, I'm not really sure which one I'd get. Forges are nice, but I don't know if Ken's got them in stock.

mmmmm that's what i love of the turbosmart, you can go full recirc or full vent at any time. and it takes about 60 seconds to do so.

I personally like the HKS the way it flutters on recir mode...I've been getting neck out of the window look to see what kind of car has that turbo BOV sound...haha
