Vta or Recirc on HKS SSQV Set up?

And also state why you choose that particular Answer and elaborate on what are the pro's and con's etc. ....also when posting state what you voted...
I also want to know for those who has it set up at vta if you guys experience CEL codes and or any problems or hickups at all (how often it stalls, how does it feel between shifting gears etc.)

man i just installed a LOUD vta with a horn at the end..lol and i love its awsome plus im holding atleast 1-2 more boost. i have floored it and had no backfire or anything, at light throttle it "farts" a little occasionally no biggy. runnin great!
 
VTA can trigger check engine lights.

How do you like it? Do you get the stumble at low rpms or any back firing?
 
Only had 1-2 ocassions with a backfire and no stumbles at low rpm. Being a hybrid it really seems to cure some of the issus with a VTA BOV... Overall I like it...
 
What'd you pay if you don;t mind me askin, i've beeing shopping around and read reviews but now i think im decided on the hybrid.
 
i personally like the VTA just cause i love the sound.. call me a ricer but when i hear that whoosh it just makes me love my little rocket even more :D
 
im holdin 1-2 more psi with mine, plus with vta its all cold air, plus since i have the standback i can tune out the farts between shifts
 
VTA rich car...

For all you people using VTA..I will save you some time and headaches...I spoke with CP-E about the different settings.....VTA will make your speed6 run rich....the MAF will see air coming in...but everytime the VTA blows out air the computer has no idea where it goes...and therefore compensates with making your car run rich....I used the HKS SSQV in VTA for 3 months...I had black tailpipes realy bad...and finally the CEL...Mazda charged me $109 just to check the code (rip off)...and it was running too rich....I swiched it to recirculation mode and I runs just as stong...the tailpipes are cleaner....and the best is no CEL's for 3 months...save some time and use recirc...Mazda engines don't like the VTA.....

It only runs rich when you shift gears or let off. Last time I checked I don't accelerate when I LET OFF the throttle, thus running richer would not affect anything to do with performance. I guess you may get a couple more backfires due to the richness, but other than that I cannot see any other cons.

I already have a CEL for running the 3" MAF and no cats, so that doesn't really bother me. Although I have never had to clear (or heard of) a CEL for "running rich"...

Running rich won't effect your performance...but it will eventually gum up your injectors and spark plugs...oh..and by the way the CEL code for system to rich is P2188 -Bank1....so run your TBV how you like..just trying to save some people extra work changing out misfiring plugs n' such..
 
Jb remember your car is Throttle by Wire. No actual cable runs from the pedal to the throttle bodsy...This means that even if you remove your foot off the gas the computer controls if any throttle is applied. It will apply gas for a millisecond to burn off hydrocarbons when you take your foot off the gas. Alot of mfgs use this for better emissions.....

Please feel free to call CP-E and discuss with their tech's why the MS6 will run rich in VTA...I guess my explanation with the MAF sensor did not sell with some of you....perhaps they could explain this better...
