Vortech FMU instillation????

Ok I got my Vortech FMU 10:1 today and guess what no instructions, I think this was a joke, I am wondering if any of you guys may have the instructions... I started my car and drove it down the road today, and a little smoke from the old oil in the exhaust from the blown seals on the old turbo. My car is running really rich, I hope that changes when I put the FMU on it. Let me know what you guys think.

You should have gotten the BEGI Rising Rate FPR. On the Vortech, big_ben can probably help you.

OK the Vortec FMU has never come with instructions. For installation do as follows
A. tap the vacuum line going to the cruise control unit and run the line off the Tee to the Vaccuum fitting on the top of the FMU.
B. For the fuel line coming off the stock FPR take it off and run a new high pressure fuel line from the fitting on teh FPR to the Inlet or top fitting on the FMU make sure to tighten these down well with hose clamps.
C. Run another High pressure fuel line from teh remaining fitting on the FMU to teh HARD LINE that the return fuel line connects to on the firewall and connect the new line with another hose clamp and you are good to go.

Oh yeah are you running rich with the turbo on and no FMU?? If so I wouldn't even install teh FMU it will make it run even richer....mine ran so rich with a 10:1 Vortec FMU I broke apart my catalyst from runnign TOOOOO rich. If you use an FMU from trial and error and what i've learned of the fuel systems in the protege I would use a 6:1 if I ever go boosted again.

Ok Chdesign which one of the fittings is the inlet and which is the outlet. I know that the vacuum is on the top but the 2 on the bottom, one is in the middle, and the other is on the side?

Look on teh FMU it shoudl have in or out etched into it. But if I'm not mistake the side inlet is the in and the bottom middle fitting is the out.

I put a Cosmo racing FPR on and I am running rich when I am not in boost. Then when I go into boost it leans out all the way. When I am idleing the car is searching for a idle point what up wit dat?
