It actually has two clutches. The DSG gearbox is always spinning the gear above and below your current selected gear so when you shift up the car is already in the next gear, same with downshifts.
Oh yeah no doubt but... if the wife got a car and it HAD to be an automatic... then... You could suprise the hell out of some little punks in a DSG 3.2 Audi A3KanseiZM said:Yeah it's a very beautiful system but I don't think I could do it. I really like having a clutch, I don't think I could go back to just pulling a lever into drive and going. I want to be sitting there controling the gears myself all the time. :'(

KanseiZM said:My hope for the DSG system is that the cost comes down so that midsize sedans that want to label themselves as sporty (the Mazda6 and Altima come to mind) could have it as an option. My mom definitely would have gotten it on her Altima if it was an option, as she couldn't go with a manual at the time due to pending ankle surgery on her left ankle.. argh.
DSG in GLI? and it the article was "Everyday Heroes" which wasn't a well thought out comparison IMO...Jhova1012 said:Its already in the Jetta GLI. Which beat out the MS6 in a shootout, forget which one.
? It will hold but its not going to sit there and bounce off a the revlimiter if thats what you want.Puckpimp71 said:I still hate the fact that the DSG doesn't hold the gears. Un-intended upshifts make baby jesus cry.
