VIN question

Let's assume just for a second I call my dealer and by some miracle, he had the MSPs on his delivery list (I know it's far- fetched). Would this list have the VINs on them? If it did, is there any reason why the dealer wouldn't give it to me? Only reason is I'd like to get my auto insurance and/or loan set up. Thanks.

Yes, he would have the VINs. No, he doesn't have them. My dealer is expecting the cars sometime in the next week (possibly today, but don't hold your breath) and they don't have VINs.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I know they don't have them yet. But if the dealer did have the VIN and I asked him for it, is he allowed to give it to me over the phone. I want to know if I can push him to give me a VIN when he has them.

I'd like to have the vin as well, for a proper insurance quote. I know if I call down and say I have a Mazdaspeed, their going to say..... "You have a what?"

In BC insurance is pretty basic, they classed my MP3 as an ES with a higher dollar value, because they don't have a listing for MP3.

My thoughts exactly. I called my insurance (Progressive) for a quote and they didn't even have the 2003s yet anyway. VINs aren't like SS#s. There's no reason the dealer wouldn't give it to you. Here's a VIN in case you want to try your insurance company (yes, it's a real VIN):
