This goes out to the guy who drives the blue MP3 with yellow stickers around Danville, Va. I was recently in a pretty bad accident, and done $6,000.00 damage to the MP3. Someone ran into me and I hit a tree head on at 60mph. The doctors and cops said that the seatbelt save my life, no thanks to the airbag that didn't come out. Well you told some people in my car club that you was glad that I wrecked and that I deserved it. Don't be mad because I busted your ass at the dragstrip, my car is all stock and yours isn't. Maybe the stickers weighed you down. Well I hope you get this because it is wrong to say things like that, especially to someones back, be a man and say it to my face. Everyone that owns a MP3 should respect other owners. There are only 1500 MP3's and that should bring some kind of friendship. Don't act childish about things, grow up! The next time you have something to say come find me, it's not hard. I hope that everyone else out there gets along and isn't as disrespectful as this guy is. Everyone be careful out there

I'm sorry to hear that man. I hope your ok. how bad were your injuries? and how bad was the car?? I hope you can get it repaired (i also hope you had insurance)... if not... well.. theres always that spiffy new mazdaspeed comin out.. as well as the mazda 6... well good luck w/ everything and i hope you feel better

(BTW... it happens to the best of us... we all have something F'ed up like that happen to us... i got hit by a god damn deer on Angeles Crest HWY.... YES THE DEER HIT ME!!! I swerved and the deer kept going.. SMACK!! into the side of the car =( body damage sucks ass)

Man, i think that there is a problem with mazda airbags...when i wrecked my car, rear ending someone at 60mph my airbag didnt come out either. I thought it was because I wasn't wearing my seatbelt(broken jaw, shattered teeth=stupid me) but i am guessing now that it wasn't. ......Interesting....

airbags work in conjunction with seatbelts remember.

the seatbelt holds you back long enough that the airbag can safely deploy before you actually hit it. IF it had deployed w/o your seatbelt on, you could've suffered a more serious injury.

on a side note, I've 'heard' that some airbag systems deploy more quickly w/o a seatbelt to make up for this time loss in impeding your body from moving forward quickly.

it only makes sense that the seatbelt deploys when the car is in an impact where the deceleration is so great that the airbag can increase protection of the driver with the deployment of the airbag. Otherwise there's no point in it going off.

another thing to point out is when your vehicle hits another vehicle at 60mph, the vehicle in front moves forward.. meaning some of the kinetic energy was transferred to the other vehicle to move it forward. This means the full energy of the impact was not transferred back to your car. Driving into a wall, however, is practically full transfer of the kinetic energy into damage and deformation of your vehicle.

Just some info. for you. I had a 95' cadillac and got into a huge accident at 80 mph in Mexico. Even at 80 mph the airbag didn't deploy. So I got a lawyer and lawsuit against Cadillac for having a faulty airbag in my vehicle, needless to say Cadillac doesn't want bad publicity and they settled out of court, Mazda should do the same. (that is how I was able to walk in and pay $18,500 cash for a brand new MP3.)

Maybe we're missing his part of the story...maybe you did something to him that you didn't mention? I can't see why he'd say that you "deserved" getting into a crash.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, but you kind of need to hear this guy's story from his mouth, not just hear say. Not to call your freinds liar's but things can get lost thru translation, things can even be added. Just a thought.

I haven't done or said anything to him. The only thing I did was beat him twice at the strip. He even hung out with my friends and I, so I don't know what his problem is.
