Valvoline messed up my cx-7, sort of

My mazda dealer called me today and asked if anybody had lifted my car up on a jack, I said 'yes valvoline, when they rotated my tires'. Every since then it has been making funny sounds, the dude said it was not lifted correctly and they damaged some part, which was then rubbing up against the exhaust I think he said.

mazda is going to cover it, but they said this one time only.

They are going to install the part on Friday, at which point I'm going to drive down to valvoline and rip into them cuz I knew they did something wrong as soon as I pulled away that day, I even took it back like 5 minutes later and they were like 'all we did was rotate the tires'

That still does not solve my gas milage going from 23 mpg to 15 mpg for no reason.


I really missed my cx-7 today here in boston with the snow/sleet, instead I was driving a mazda loaner a mazda 6 with the V6, a very nice ride, I wish the cx-7 had that v6 instead of the turbo, oh well.

Good thing Mazda is covering it...just shows that Mazda, as a corporate entity, is top notch. They didn't have to repair under warranty, but they went that "extra mile".

Perhaps you can get the paper work from Mazda that says what was damaged and Mazda's assessment as to the cause? You could then take that paperwork to Valvoline and speak with their manager.

Thanks for the heads-up! I've read elsewhere that these convenience shops don't have the right equipment or parts to work on the CX-7. I'll be sticking with my dealership for routine maintenance. Somewhat inconvenient to me, due to distances, but worth avoiding the aggravation you went through!
