Does anyone else have a discoloration like this on there valve cover. I thought it might have been grease/oil stains but I could not get it to come off. It looks like the paint has worn off. No evidence of peeling just worn. (uhm)

mine has the same stuff all over it, used two washings with the simple green automotive stuff and wouldnt come off. Sucks

check on the inside if it's really bothering you. looks like your valvetrain is toast though.

j/k :)

I've had that on the cam gear cover since I bought my car. It looks like scratches, but it's just discoloration, I don't know what causes it.

If you find a way to remove it, be sure to let me know!

I think I am going to just brush some silver hi temp paint on it.

Its called oxidation folks- quite normal with aluminum

Take some mothers mag/alum polish and rub for a bit- who needs chrome??
