Vac Leak

My boost gauge is reading -7 vac which is extremely low, usually run around -20-22 vac. i took off the line to the WGA and then plugged that hole as soon as i did this the vac went to normal. Would a bad WGA cause this? My boost stays at 6psi when i boost and idling is fine no cel. I tried to see if i could blow through the WGA lightly and i could so my diaphragm is bad from what ive read, but ive never heard nething on here about that causing a low vac reading. If i could get your input much appreciated i dont want to spend money and time on a WGA and not need one. Thanks

it would replace the wastegate youl start haveing more problems soon

Blow into the vac line feeding the Wastegate Actuator. If you can blow air through it, then replace the WGA. If it's not working properly, you can overboost your engine and detonate it.

If you can blow into the line then the wga is definately bad...best option is an atp replacement vs another oem one that will also have problems down the road.

You may have more leaks other than the wga since vac is so low at idle unless it goes completely back to -20 to -22 with the ac off

It went back completely to 20-22 vac, so Im pretty sure its the WGA, how hard is removal and install of WGA? And u know the part number on the ATP WGA? Thanks alot for the inputs

Most will say its easier to pull the mani and turbo out to get at it but oil and coolant lines get to be a pain. Easiest if you have an air compressor or brake bleeder gun to extend the wga arm out which I didn't think of when I had to mess with mine. Also tape the e clip to the end of a big screwdriver to tap it on.

I was able to swap out my WGA without removing anything up top. Underneath I removed the cross brace and the Jpipe. That gave me just enough access to get up there. Getting the E clip back on the rod was a huge pain. I ended up using a really long pair of needle nose pliers to get the clip on, then my buddy used an equally long screwdriver from up top to push it on all the way.
