Utah contingent

u havent got ur rims yeat:eek: , i whould be pissed. took my car into shop this morhing, to get some stuff fixed that they mised after my accident, hopefully ill get it back tomorow:rolleyes:

I made a whole flame thread about wheelmaz and how bad their customer service sucks, i'm tired of getting the run around and not having my rims! Because i know it can't be good driving on these bent rims...
What else needs to be fixed on your car?
And Since we are making a wish list...
Turbo- fast spooling, can still pass emissions, 200 whp, engine management

Forged internals
mazdaspeed struts
racing beat swaybars
WW body kit (maybe)
Custom turbo back exhaust
Stage 2 clutch
Fidenza Flywheel
LSD, or Quaiffe
etc...

all my car needs is just paint touchups, and i have a big gap between my door becouse of the accident but they are fixing that as well.
also u know the guy who is building that 350HP MP5 on this site, well he is curently designing an NA kit:D .
200WHP NA will smoke a 200WHP Turbo anyday, and be drivable for a long time...
also just went to look at bullet bikes and OMG, i want one even more now:'(

Why would 200 NA hp be faster than 200 FI hp? I don't understand why one would be faster than the other... unless it's just the torque curve, but that will be different between every built motor anyway.

One thought, though: if you're looking for real performance for use in Utah, I would go FI. At this altitude, it'll be much easier to produce boosted power than naturally aspirated power.

They're both fun, though, and I know that I'm staying NA.

Chris

a 200 whp NA would beat a 200 whp FI because of the torque curve, and the seamless power it would produce. He would get me on the time when my turbo was spooling and i'd never catch him. (So says the little green men in the back of my head) I may be wrong, but thats my illogical reasoning.

For my FI engine i want something that will spool quickly, yet still have top end power. It has to be able to pass emissions. My overall goal for my Protege is to have it run 13's in the quarter mile, and have more than 200 whp. So i will need engine management of course to run higher boost levels. After i accomplish that, i want to learn to tune it, and run autocross with it.

And i believe Nick (perfworks) is working on a 545 whp P5 running 20-25 psi of boost! he's insane.
But his kit seems thus far flawless, and i want to hear more specs on it :D

also NA is power on demand, u press on the gas and go. FI is u press on the gas...waigh a little...and then WHOOOOOOOOSH and the turbo spool, but by this time im like 5 car lengths ahead and still pulling till higher red line, sense NA can rev higher then FI.
Jeff are ur rims in yeat?
but i think in NA MP5 ull be lucky to run mid 14s. but its ok, my MP5 is an AutoX car.
there is AUTOX on sat and sun. go to www.utahscca.com for all the deatails. i might go race but if i dont ill just go watch.

Hopefully my rims come today. If not i'm going to go to the BBB and report them, and call and b**** like crazy to them to tell me where they are. I'm still driving on 2 bent rims here!!
I want to go to autox this weekend! I've never been before. Do you want to carpool out there one day? maybe sunday? thats better for me.

With FI i can rev, and have my turbo spooling before the launch though. But i put a lot more stress on the tranny launching that way. 200whp NA would be cool, but i see it overall to be more expensive than going FI. plus i like the sound and feeling of a turbo :D

yeah ill car pool u to the race...also my car is done, now i just need to waight for a ride to pick it up.
I also like turbos but they are alllllllot of work and u have to watch what u are doing, my friend had a turbo civic(got stollen and stiped) that was fully built, b18, T3T4, had $20K invested. but we where going up that hill below ur house and he punched it w/ 4 people in the car...and BOOOOOOOOOOM we thought we blew his turbo, but it was only IC pipic it scared the s*** out of us thinking we blew a T3t4 turbo.
plus how many NA MP5 do u see, NA is also better for autoX, if u have a Turbo in autoX u better have it spool at low RPM's. becouse when colby (silver WRX) goes to race AutoX w/ me he has to shift SOOOO mutch compared to me, becouse if he gets lower then 3500 rpm's he looses most of his power.
also it whould be fun to beat the s*** out of civics, ITR and not even have Valve timing or anything:p

Yeah for autocross NA is probably better. I hope to have my turbo spooling way way before 2500 RPM's though. Hopeully more like 2000-2500.
And a civic will never be a fast car. We can beat any stock civic (except thos damn Si's) not too difficult. I know our cars will never be super fast, and aren't built to be racecars, but its always fun to see how fast it can go.
Oh and whats up with Corolla type S's :wtf:

what do u mean about Corolla S's?
also if u just saw my friend civic u whould s*** ur pants. it had 325WHP on 12PSI. at 30PSI(whitch the engine was built around to handle) it whould be about 550-600WHP and im not shitting u.
we whould drive around and SMOKE M3's, camaros, EVERYTHING.
i actualy didn;t like civic's till i rode in my friends car. it whould have so mutch power it whould throw of the deck face when he whould trip the tires in 2nd. and thats at only 12PSI.

also if u want ur turbo to spool at 2k it will only ull till 5.5, maby 6 unless u dont push allot of boos, trust me i know turbo's(somewhat) and its hard to get s*** right unless u want to pay for tuning on a dyno witch runs about $200 per hour+mechanics hourly $45-$65hr.it whould be well worth it thow after that.
plus to go NA u dont need pistons and rods untill u actualy want them for HIgher Comp.

The corolla s's have zero engine mods compared to the regular corolla. It just seems like a marketing ploy to try and get people to buy something "performance" when its not.
And a civic is fine as long as its built like that. I am talking about all those kids who run around with altezza lights, and huge wings, that still have the tiny 1.6 in their engine bay. If your friend actually put money into it, forged internals and such, i give him props because not many people have the time, patience, or cash to do that.

he didnt build it but the guy he got it from did. it is bored out, has EVERYTHING done to it to make the car run low, 10's up in this altitude. it had $20k droped into the engine and trany.
corola...enoughd said, why whould u ever buy one, even consider it...
waigh till we go to AutoX, there are like 4 civic hatch backs there that have B18, B16 in them. and OMG are those cars fast, they beat my times by like 5-6 sec. its redicilus, but those cars are on 752(modern garadges team) and are buit for SCCA.

Cool, maybe we should sorta try to make a meet out of this. we could all go to autox together. Then maybe for a little drive afterwards. And maybe you and i should start our own thread so we don't keep posting random stuff on this one heh

u say it like its a bad thing. LOL
hey if u can scrounge up $25 u can race! if i can scrounge $25 ill race. if i can scrounge $50 ill race on Sat. and Sun.
also if u hear of any turob parts for civic going around for cheap u should let me know, just keen an ear out, also the engine was B18C1 that got stollen.

about a meet, we should just go w/ NASIOC(subaru club) for a meet w/ them. just have a couple of mazdas and a couple of subarus. but we usualy do it on a sunday when there is no AUTOX becouse after racing me and everyone else is usualy ready for an Nap, or chilling, not driving around becouse people are usualy satasfied w/ speed for a little bit after racing.

If i have my new rims i might. I'm not going to race on bent rims, not too smart...
I'll keep an eye out for cheap civic turbo parts.
What about tomorrow? are you going to paint stuff tomorrow, or wait til next week? I got my gauge overlays in, but the ycame with NO instructions. I am hesitant about doing it too, because i don't want to bust my needles just yet, and i have no money to replace the cluster if i do.

im going to hold it off till next week, unless u have some sandpaper and primer paint in a can...but i can help u do ur bushings and guadge thing, its not hard to put it on u just have to make suere ur needles are lined up right.
what does wheelmax say when u call arout ur rims? and what tires did u get?

1. the needles don't come off, so i have to slip them over.
2. I think i will wait to do my gauges
I have paint primer in a can at my house :D and loads of sandpaper
Wheelmax can't find shipping info on my rimns, but they promise me they have been sent out, and will be here within the next 3 days.
And we need to get our bad tool kits out and try and get my bushings on.
