2013/14 Mazda 6 Atenza
Hi all, I am hoping someone could educate me before I take delivery of my new Mazda 6. I had a 6 Atenza demo overnight the other day, as I have to wait 3 months to take delivery of my new car. Dealer felt sorry for me, so decided to tease me further by allowing me to have the car for 12 hours. I decided to give the Bose system a whirl, and dumped a few mp3 files on a flash drive and plugged it into the Mazda. The flash drive's light came on, however the Mazda system didnt read or play the music. My iPhone 5 worked perfectly both via bluetooth (played Pandora very well) and by connecting it via the USB.
I have read online that flash drives work in the Mazda 6, so is anyone able to tell me what I am doing wrong.

Thanks

step 1. transfer music to local machine
step 2. format USB Fat32
step 3. transfer music back to USB flash - do not place the files in folders

Try that and see if that works.

The manual doesn't indicate the supported partition formats.

From what I've been able to determine FAT32 is the best bet. For drives larger than 32GB I would recommend trying the following:

http://www.pendriveapps.com/format-fat32-larger-than-32gb/

It will let you format to the full size of the drive in FAT32

By default windows will want to format drives larger than 32GB to exFAT. I found this would cause the stick not to be recognized in the car, likewise for NTFS.
