US Mazda5 Changes for 2010

one other thing I just noticed on our 2010 vs 2007, is when you hit the lock button on the remote, the parking lights don't flash... hmm.

I have the 2010 Mazda5 GT and my lights flash once when I lock the doors, and twice when I unlock them.

I think you can program the remote to display a range of visual/auditory cues when locking/unlocking. The manual has an extensive section about the key fob/locking system.

ya need to read up on it some more... seems like sometimes it does n sometimes it doesn't... haven't had time to tinker n repeat scenarios... wonder if perhaps the auto headlights play a factor in it. Got tell ya'll I'm loving the auto wipers n heated mirrors here in Oregon.... well worth it! The moulding n traction controls I can see being somewhat subjective... but easily forgotten with all they added... and truthfully the DSC/trac control works exactly the way I need it too... nothing more nothing less.. just enough to keep me from buying new tires monthly... this coming from an autox'r n shifter kart guy ;P

I think these type tail lights (Round):

should be the ONLY style for the Premacy/M5... round just looks better looking than the triangle look of the 2008-10 IMO.

-1 the turbo. One of the best parts of the 5 is that it runs great on 87 octane. No current turbo set up does that! I drive way too much to be putting in premium.

I hope they make the gas tank a gallon or so larger too.

The turbo engine for the Premacy (i.e. Mazda5) is a diesel, and gets MUCH better MPG than your 87 octane 2.3L.

Our 2009 mazda 5 is the same colour, and I removed the molding right away and did some mods to the inside, see pics in the link below

What did you do to put your headrest TVs in the back? It seems that there is a cover that goes over the headrest and no wiring is visible... Even though from what I see, it doesn't look like a permanent installation (hopefully I'm right! I don't want to insult you!!).. Can you give me more details? Thanks!

I have had excellent results with Meguiars NXT Tech Wax 2.0. Easy to apply and very durable protection. Has help up through a full year of salt and other envionmental junk and beads like day one. The real key is to make sure the surface is totally clean before waxing. Run your hand down the surface and if you feel anything at all, get a good clay cleaning kit, spray the sufrace with some detailer and glide the clay over the surface until it feels totally smooth. Then apply two coats of wax and it will last

I am very bummed out that Mazda didn't upgrade the engine to the 2.5L(spank)

I also miss the side marker lights, and the side molding.

agreed. I haven't driven a 3 w/ the 2.5 but I assume it's got more cajones than the 2.3 (although coming from my ecotec VUE, the 2.3 is nice).
I think the '10 looks naked w/o the side markers and molding. maybe something else had to go to add the DSC and TC standard
