Mazdaspeed 6
i purchased the titanium gray 2006 mazda speed 6 sport in feb. of 2006 and have 8,600 miles on it and it has been in the shop several times, about every other week.it started with minor things and is slowly getting serius the passenger side ac vent came apart and needed replacing and the rear pasenger door molding was peeling back and had to be replaced then the breaks started squeking when driving at slow speed and not being aplied and had to be replaced ,then i had a clank or thud coming from back of car and took it in and there was 2 broken bolts that hold the reaer diff that need replacing ,then the power steering pump blew and was replaced and then the high presure fuel pump located on motor went out and i was supposed to get back yesturday but mazda anounced that sat. thay would start mandatory recall for pcm recalabration for power lose and there is a stop sale tell pcms are recalibrated in smog states so i am waiting for dealer to recive software.(ughdance)

Hummmmm maybe I should turn my stereo down and listen for some of these noises heh...

10k miles and everything has been perfect for me... at least as far as I can tell....

I haven't decided on the powerloss upgraded yet because.... I haven't had the issue... once the car was in 33% mode for a while on the freeway home from LAX... but thats the only time i've noticed the problem.... boost cuts out early... lose most power before rev-limiter... but.. oh well its strong all the way up till that point...

I wonder if you live in a crazy.. ruff area .. with salt air and acidic rain or somethin... i mean damn... thats a lot of issues...

My breaks squak... but hardly seems like a dealership issue....

ohthe break squinking i had was a deffinet dealer issue and i live in sunny so cal no rain to have acid rain and no snow for salt etc.and the rest of problems maybe i just got a bad egg.

This is the first I have seen the full recall details sent to dealers. Interesting to read that in California the recall is required before you can re-register the vehicle as it is being treated as an emissions recall.

Guess I'll be calling to make an appt.

update-i got the car back and the new computer reprogram is a major detune i could imediatly tell there was less power i wish i had per dinoed or had boost guage etc before hand also concening other problems car goes back again tommorrow after driving 10 miles i noticed the second power steering pump is going out now and when i looked under the hood i noticed the mecanic bent up intercooler while changing fuel pump i also called mazdaspeed costumer serivice and started a case file on my problems it to this date has been in the shop for 15 of the past 90 days.im i the only one having these problems?p.s. i also noticed a new noise a clanking when starting to applie load to drive train i think its an engine or tranny mount.

Sorry...

I also live in Sunny So Cal but I have not had any major issues. I recently had the re-flash and cannot tell a difference. I don't have a boost gauge installed but it feels the same 2 me. I hope that your problems will come to an end soon.

Do you have a lemon law in CA? In FL the dealers are required to give you a new vehicle if you have been in the shop more than 3 times in 1 year. ( Ithink that the time frame)

sorry man but you def have a lemon. they'll have to give you another car, i've had my car for 4 months and nothing is wrong with it.

yea I think if the Power steering pump goes out again...you prolly qualify for CA lemon law criteria.

After the flash, my boost is a touch over 15psi. I didn't have the boost gauge on before the flash....but....the stock psi is a bit over 15, so I think I am good to go.

I think each state has there own lemon laws. As with anything, the first think is to educate yourself on what constitutes a lemon. Do not rely on the dealership to give true info on lemon laws that apply in your state. Hell, I might even be wrong and lemon law is federal and applies to all. I say research it and find out if you are or falling into the law. Mazda would have to do something for me if I had to keep going back the dealer for warrenty work.

we had a couple of members years back that got their mp3 replaced through the lemon law. I myself had some bad luck with my mp3, and while there is no lemon law here, Mazda Canada did their best to get me out of that car and I've gained a relationship with them because of it that has been beneficial so far. Some Dealers, Mazda or non-Mazda can be real assholes, but there are people out there that give a s***, you just got to find them.

The dealer should have given you a Lemon law pamplet when you bought your car.
My friend lemon lawed her PT Cruiser. Instead of giving her a new car, I think she accepted her trade-in value refunded, and any future services paid for.

Most places it's the law that the pamphlet be given, but most people forget it in the paper shuffle and excitement of new car buying.

BTW - Ladyspeed6 - you're in my daughter's hometown.
