OK, so a buddy of mine had these Nokya Stage 2 Arctic White H11 bulbs sitting around and handed them to me since they fit my low beams. They are 80 watts. Does the heavy duty plug and play wiring harness actually prevent melting or should I just consider standard 55 watt bulbs? If the harness works, that is only about $10 I have to spend with free bulbs.

I cant remember what it is called off the top of my head, but the "box" that comes in with HID kits that goes in between the bulb and wiring is important. It allows the bulb to come up slow with a capacitor. That keeps it from just 'slamming' on. The proof being that I have one melted headlight assembly with the HID now super glued into place.
