I don't think the cluster has anything to do with it honestly...I have had now an LX, P5, DX, and MSP cluster all in mine and had no problems at all with anything...

I just wondered since i saw on ebay that many of them say "gauge cluster w/keylees" ,others w/out keyless so that kinda got me thinking...

where did you get the carpeting
Just replaced my dome light bulb for an LED i bought from Vleds,DE3022 31mm festoon,nothing!,the door set does not illuminate with the door open,same thing with the regular bulb,but when i set to ON the LED unit doesn't work,the regular bulb does
I am so pissed right now!,paid $12 bucks for that damn LED (mad)
List of things i have issues with:
Keyless system-INOP.
Dome light,does not light up when doors are opened.
High beam icon,does not light up on the gauge cluster when H. beam lights are on
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yesterday i got a gauge cluster(2000) from ebay,got it just to have an option to the MSP gauge i swapped a year ago and when i get bored of the black faced gauges i will swap again 
It's amazing how things work,suddenly,the blue icon that i was complaining showed up,the dome light started working !
Changed the ugly filament bulbs(green) and put red LEDs,i really like the look.
I can't tell you guys how happy i am that everything is working again,so i answer my own question,the gauge cluster was related to 2 of my issues,i stilll need to figure the keyless entry problem,but i got a neighbor that is selling me his keyless module and key fob for $40 bucks,he blew a gasket and just parting out with the car.
PS:If anyone needs parts for their glorious 99-00 let me know.
His car is in mint condition,the interior and seats are pristine,some engine parts still available.
So,if you are interested PM me,ask me for the part you are interested in and i will provide pics or you deal directly with him.
He is not a forum member so that's why i suggested him to sell the parts and helping him.

I swap the keyless module i've got form my neighbor and works perfect!,good thing is i've got the key fob so didn't have to go trough the process of programming the remote.
Painted and re-touch few of the interior pieces.
I am planning to put it back in the car tomorrow.

I changed my filament bulb and put the LED i bought from VLeds.com.
Re-route the wires from the dome light to the front of the car and tested the Mazda3 map lights,now the system works perfect when i open the doors the dome lights work,map lights can be turn on when needed.

it is looking good i too like the red guages. what is next on the list?
I am putting the interior pieces back tomorrow,i have to put the headliner and handles too.
I have ordered some wide angle #74 red LEDs for the cluster since some areas are not evenly lighted on my gauge cluster,i will probably add a LED strip too.
Hopefully by the end of next week all interior will be done and focus my attention on the exterior,but first i have to spend the money and do the timing belt,can't wait any longer for that.

thats the one i've been looking at. originally found it earlier in your thread. i was just curious since yours didnt come out evenly. im not sure what color i want to do mine yet.
also i was looking up antennas and saw you started a couple threads asking about it. i've been thinking of a sharkfin one myself. u still thinking stubby antenna?

I like the shrkfin antenna,but don't know how it will look.
I just put a fake one i bought on ebay and cost me 7 bucks,it's a plastic shorty,but i am considering buying a real one,the problem is that i will have to find an extension to be able to put it in the rear.
