Update on protege Supercharger!

Latest update from roddimus prime:

Haltech should arrive tomorrow afternoon (while I'm out of town).

I'm still waiting for word from DaveB about the last bracket and pulleys. He told me that he'd take some time this weekend to finish the powersteering relocation bracket and get it to me so I can mount it and test fit it. He already finished the blower bracket but he feels can make a sturdier design so he's going to try a different set-up. I'm anticipating this to be 100% in my car in about 2 weeks.

I hate not being able to control the time schedule of my own project but I trust Dave's work and if he tells me he wants to work on it for a few more weeks I'm going to let him.

The haltech has arrived!

HEy guys, more pics. I'm waiting for the brackets still but I'll post this up to give you an idea of what to expect ECU-wise. It looks pretty straightforward with everything clearly labled. I'll be sure to make VERY SPECIFIC instructions on my own when installing this.

Also, I will be dynoing this NA to see what kind of power can be had with the ecu OFF-BOOST. This is VERY important when thinking about how the car will respond in "every-day" driving. My early estimate?? 120whp with my ebay intake and obx header and Haltech.

bump.. I want to see pics on the car....... not the white P5 version but someone elses version.. something that would go into production... that is insane looking.

We're getting close everyone. Sorry I havnt updated this in so long, but this'll probably be the last time is is updated. Dave has been extremely busy of late working on getting himself some extra greenbacks.

In the next couple weeks he will be done building the brackets and they will be in matty's hands, along with the blower. He already has the pipes, ecu, etc etc. So as soon as thatblower gets here, we'll be ballin.

As soon as we get the rest of that stuff in, I'll start another thread, but I'll be sure to put a link in here.

coolness..... So is matty on stock internals or is he forged? I wanna know what the safest max PSi will be to run with this kit on stock internals?... I also assume that as soon as you can, you will be dynoing it right? Thanks!

Yeah a dyno is very first on the list once we get it installed. We actually had one scheduled for when we THOUGHT the kit was gonna be fully assembled and installed (September 11) but THAT didnt work out, as we can all plainly see now.

I believe he's gonna be running either 4 or 6 PSI to start out with. Yes on stock internals with an obx header. He has a mazdaspeed axle back riht now, but I believe he will have a full catback before we dyno.

I'm sure you heard exactly what he said, but if you knew matty like I do, you'd know that he doesnt quite say what he means to say most of the time ;)

AC helps clear my windows when they're foggy, but I'm still interested :D

What if you designed some kind of supercharger that, instead of running off the engine belt, used the force of exhaust gases to spin a turbine that pumped air into the engine. Of course, it would require the design of a new exhaust manifold, but we would be able to keep our a/c. I think that would be pretty sweet. (wiggle)
