UNICHIP ENGINE MANAGEMENT - Answers from Jack at unichip.us

Not being able to tune myself is both a concern and relief. I can't mess anything up, but I can't change anything myself. Is there a place where we could find the nearest unichip tuner?

I'll likely end up saving up for it next summer.. Im still skeptical, but i do give it my support as a step in the right direction for the MSP community, as it does sound very promising, and i know there are local unichip tuners who can put my car on the dyno with my custom mods and make power.

Keep us updated.

i'm with KY on that one. Sounds great. Alot of people don't want to have this as an all out drag car....just to make it faster than it is or to they're liking. Good product and i support it also.....:) Can't wait to see some peoples input after having this put in...our community is growing with support and thats great.

ok there still hasn't been a clear answer or maybe i just didnt see it but does this unit control your boost controller so you can raise it or is it set? besides that yea awesome product if it does get release !

I believe thats what Binary is asking the guy who made the chip. If it control boost like it says (bump up to 9psi) then theres going to be a tap in the wastegte line...I think

But maahbe what you mean is the switch...which I believe is probally 2 diffrent boost setting/fuel and timing maps. But we'll jsut have to wait for the guy to clear that part up.

This seems something I would consider as it's plug and play and I love what they've done for the WRX and even the Toyota Matrix.

I went to the website and the Mazdaspeed Protege wasn't even on the list of "Coming Soon", so I'm trying REALLY hard to not get my hopes up. The good news was, however, that the RX-8 was on there, so maybe they've cracked gotten something to work on Mazdas in general. I may be comparing apples to oranges, though, as I don't know jack about the RX-8's ECU.

Update - FYI the PnP units for the MSP are going to be available in ~2.5 weeks time. We will be offering the Unichip PnP system for the MSP with maps for various stages of tune with our parts.

pates03 - boost levels are pre-programmed into the Unichip. The end-user will not be able to adjust the boost levels (except for the differences between the two maps).

I would expect it to be no more than $875USD cause that's Corksport's price :)

yay capitalism!

great news ION! what kind of support do you have planned for the unichip? i.e. remaps, price per remaps. Can I put it on layaway? LOL How about turnaround times?
