This way out of the box it'll be ready for whatever yourt mods are and tuned to fix or run with you A/F ratio... This is what I did with the SHO when I got a new ECU (totally different circumstances), but it's simple enough, saves time getting it tuned specifically for your car and no headaches of having to send it back if it's off a little bit. With a list of mods and a good dyno sheet, I'd think they have enough information to properly (or REALLY close to) tune for YOUR car.
I don't think people understand how little 875 dollars is for a mod like this. There is a local shop in New Jersey (ida automotive- these guys make some of the concept cars for ford) that does their own thing that is almost exactly the same as the unichip, except they dyno tune it for your specific car and you can tune it yourself afterwards with a laptop, and they want $1200. And even that is a good deal. It just doesnt make sense to ask for individual maps tailored for each customer while charging only 875 dollars. In addition, unless the place dyno tuning the car has every mod on the list and an msp to try it on, simply sending them a list of your mods will still be a guesstimate until they actually get your specific car.
